Good morning! Some of you were asking for an update on my son’s cat Root Beer. She is doing well. She is fully trained now and is an indoor-only cat. She has been experiencing a little bit of anxiety since her surgery but bird videos, and especially mice videos fix her right up. It’s a given that she would miss the outdoors but she doesn’t miss the five degree temps or people shooting at her. I’m so glad she is safe now.
It’s been a busy week thus far. I was exposed to COVID last weekend so I quarantined for five days and then tested and was negative. That was my first test! I get to have another test right before my kidney surgery, which will now be on 1/27. When a kidney is blocked, they move you up. This will be a more invasive surgery but now they can do both kidneys at once so I won’t have to go back a second time. I had to do bloodwork, more x-rays, and an EKG for that so I got that done earlier this week.
The Girl is back at school now. She had a delayed flight and a long, long night that went into the next day because NONE of the Delta crew showed up. But, they did not cancel so I give them credit for that. She started her classes yesterday. She is very excited because she was cast as an understudy for one of the spring shows. This is huge and she is very happy. Freshman don’t usually get cast in a show so she is so happy to be working with this director. The show is called Bright New Boise. It’s set in a Hobby Lobby.
My reading has been sporadic. I blame Twitter. I have 3000+ followers but after 13 years, people are finally talking to me. How does that work? So as I plop myself down to read, I then end up on Twitter. I need to disable notifications I think.
Now that The Girl and Boy are gone. It feels weird again. It’s like they are here and then all of a sudden I remember that they are not. It makes me a little sad, to be honest.
Hope your week ends well. I am always waiting for Friday.
Ti, glad you won’t have to have (2) surgeries and sooner is always better. Thanks for updates on RootBeer; love the pic. Sorry E is having so may flight issues to MO – frustrating for sure, congrats or her getting a part in the new show. I for the 3rd time disabled my twitter account – I have enough time wasters with IG and an online game. Take care – thinking of you.
The small town life in Kansas is not working out well for my son but the one bright spot is this cat! She is the sweetest thing.
Yes. The surgery is now more invasive but I really don’t care. I am ready to be done with this.
Ti, loved this update on all the things in your life. I’ve been reading, but I don’t always comment. Anyway, I think it’s amazing that Root Beer likes to watch bird and mouse videos. Ha! Who would have thought? Will also be keeping you in my prayers for all your upcoming surgery things. Glad that you’ll be able to take care of more at one time. Hope you will be well and also that your kids will have a good spring! Take care and as I said, I’ll be keeping you in my prayers. Hugs!
Thank you. I am not too nervous about the surgery but now that it will be more involved, they told me the recovery will be tough. Pain wise. I have a high tolerance for pain but that is the kind of pain that’s hard to manage. Dreading it.
I am glad that you tested negative. I hope that the surgery goes well. I’ll be thinking about you.
So glad that your test was negative, what a huge relief! We had 5 people out of work at the same time and there are only 11 of us. I worked alongside 2 of them before the tested so I was a bit concerned for a while. Three of them are back now so my hours have thankfully dropped back down to normal.
Praying your surgery goes well!
Root Beer (love the name!) is so cute! Glad she is better.
Congratulations to your daughter! I hope your son adjusts to small town life soon. I actually love living in a small town.
I have to test for COVID again this Monday for the surgery so I hope I stay negative.
My son named all the feral cats after IN N OUT menu items. He had another name for her but she reminded me of a frosty mug of root beer so when I mentioned it, she had a new name. She is the sweetest cat.
We had to test twice a week at work until we were vaccinated and I’ glad I don’t have to test anymore, unless of course I’ve been exposed to someone who was positive. Love how Root Beer got her name 🙂
That’s so exciting that your daughter was cast in the show! And, the kitty is adorable.
Surgery is always scary, but I hope it all goes smoothly and takes care of the problem(s).
I turned off all notifications on my phone and I am a happier person because of it.
No wonder you’ve been feeling stressed! I’m glad you tested negative and hope all goes smoothly for your surgery.
I’m glad that your surgery is scheduled and that you tested negative for Covid. I am glad your daughter was able to get back to school in a timely manner. Congratulations to her on getting a part!
Aww, I’m glad kitty is calmed by bird & mouse videos. What a great idea! I’ve been on Twitter for 13 years as well, but still no one is talking to me, lol. I never figured out the Twitter secret.
Twitter is very strange. It’s like yelling into a tunnel. Sometimes they hear you. Most of the time, not.
