Hello! Hope you are enjoying a nice, relaxing Sunday. It’s starting to look like Christmas over here. The Girl arrives late Wednesday night. Cross your fingers and pray that she makes her connecting flight. My son doesn’t arrive until Christmas Eve but that will be here before we know it.
Right Now:
I am heading out to meet the students at church in a little bit. I love this time of the year. So much excitement over finals, winter break, parties and the like. I am looking forward to the time off and spending as much of it as possible with the kids.
This Week:
As I said, The Girl arrives Wednesday.
Friday, we have tickets to Hamilton and thus begins my vacation through January 9th.
Reese’s Book Club has a pop-up bookstore at a local mall. I would like to visit it. I had planned to visit on Black Friday and then came to my senses. Ha! Maybe I can fit a trip in this week.
Reading:
My reading is still limping along. I am not nauseous from the meds anymore and my interest is beginning to return. I picked up Greenwich Park and I think it will work well for me right now.
Watching:
None of this is new but my Christmas movie watching has begun. Four Christmases and Die Hard can be checked off the list. Still to watch:
- The Family Stone
- Christmas Vacation
- Jingle all the Way
- Elf
- Deck the Halls
- Christmas with the Kranks
- Home Alone
- It’s a Wonderful Life
- A Christmas Story
- Love Actually
- Meet Me in St. Louis
- Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Um, there is a lot to watch.
Knee MRI Update:
- Torn meniscus
- Torn ACL
- A cyst
- Something wrong with my bone marrow in one spot.
- Doc to evaluate with me soon.
Grateful for:
- Cozy evenings by the Christmas tree. Me, my blanket, the pup and my book. I am so glad to be reading again.
- Thursday night service at church. I volunteer for most of Sunday so I am so glad that Thursday night services are back. It’s so peaceful and not that populated.
Have a wonderful Sunday and great week!
The month is flying by, glad the kids will be home to celebrate and catch up. That’s a lot going on with you knee:( I have a torn meniscus in the right and a Baker’s cyst behind the left knee:( Keep us posted.
My favorite Christmas movies are: Elf, It’s a Wonderful Life, and Home Alone (original) and A Christmas Story. I did watch The Grinch Who Stole Christmas with my granddaughter on Thursday LOL
Your kids will be home before you know it! One of our daughters arrives on Friday, then another on the 22nd. Both will be bring boyfriends… it’s going to be a full house!
My reading has been mostly audiobooks while walking, but I’m hoping to get some cozy couch reading started soon. My favorite Christmas movies – Elf, A Christmas Story, The Family Stone, and Home Alone. Hope you have a great week, Ti.
I hope everyone arrives home safe and sound. Your knee stuff doesn’t sound good, I hope the doctor has some better news and/or solutions for you.
The month is moving along so fast. We’ve gotten to Frosty, Frosty Returns, Rudolph, Santa Claus is coming to town, and I’ve watched Die Hard. I’m hoping to get to our Nightmare Before Christmas tradition and Elf, which we save for Christmas eve. There are others on the list.
Reading is slow for me as I cover for others at work and edit a manuscript for an author.
How fun to not only have your kids home for Christmas, but to have tickets to see Hamilton! I loved watching it on TV, but would love to see it live, as well.
Gosh, no wonder your knee is giving you so much trouble! I hope your doctor has some good solutions to those problems.
So sorry about the Knee update, ugh! But I’m glad your daughter will be home this week — how fun! I hope she loves her school. It sounds like you will have a happy Christmas all together. See what the doc says and take care …. Otter Pup will help.
