Sunday Matters: Headed to Surgery

Sunday Matters

Last month I shared a Life Update and since then I’ve been anxiously waiting for these two surgeries to be scheduled. They are next week, 1/9 and 1/10. Cannot wait. It’s weird to be eager for brain surgery but let’s go.

These steroids to control swelling have kept me up for two weeks. No sleep but I am not even tired. Just a little on edge.

I would appreciate prayers heading into this, good thoughts, all of it. Prayers that it is benign. Smooth recovery and no complications. My daughter will be down for the surgeries but has to be back at school on 1/15.

In the meantime I’m reading and just resting. This last week a few more symptoms popped up. I’m isolating to avoid COVID too. That is the last thing I need.

Have a great weekend. It’s cold here but I am cozy and well.

  1. I can understand that it must feel weird to be anxious to have these two surgeries, but you’ve been waiting so long to feel better and it sounds like this is the answer. You will be in my thoughts on Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as the rest of the month as you recover. I’m glad your daughter will still be home. BTW, my brother had brain surgery several years ago (acoustic neuroma) and did very well with the surgery and recovery. I will send positive thoughts that your surgery team is just as skilled and caring as the one he had. Big, big hugs coming your way, Ti.

  2. Ti, I’m so sorry that you’re going through this and will absolutely be keeping you in my thoughts this week. All the best for a successful surgery, for good news, and a smooth recovery. Much love!

  3. I hope it all goes well, that the results are good, and that you have a smooth recovery! I am so glad your daughter will be there for it (and you).

  4. Will definitely be keeping you in my prayers, Ti. Glad your daughter will be able to come. God’s got a plan – I truly believe this. Take care, friend!

      1. I am so glad to read Laurie C’s comment. I’ve been thinking about you so much but am not on any social media. Very, very thankful.
