It’s been a hot second since my last Sunday post. Sundays have been busy.
Right Now:
A quick bite to eat and I am off to student ministry. Later, a long, long nap on the couch.
This Week:
I have a couple of fun things coming up this week. My book club’s holiday dinner and book exchange is this Wednesday. Looking forward to it. Then on Saturday we have Snowtacular at church. It’s exactly what it sounds like. There will be snow. sledding, a visit from the Grinch and more. I am volunteering for four hours at registration and The Hub is also volunteering for security.
Reading:
I am reading the new Murakami. It’s very good. I need to write up a couple of reviews but I will not be making my reading goal this year. I blame COVID, my kidney surgery, and my knee injuries. I am okay with it. I always make my goal. One year will not affect me one way or the other.
Watching:
Not much. We started our long list of Christmas movies and I have recorded a bunch of Hallmark movies I want to watch when my vacation starts on 12/16.
Grateful for:
- Got my daughter’s flight home booked. She’ll be here from 12/16 to 1/21.
- My sweet pup. She is so happy I can take her for walks again.

Book Chatter 
I always set my goal low so I can always definitely make it. That gives me a feeling of success. Other people make their goal more challenging. We’re not getting a grade on this, are we? lol
I liked Novelist as a Vocation. Murakami makes writing sound easy-peasy.
I won’t meet my reading goal, either, but it doesn’t bother me. I had a couple of hectic months…
Glad you got your daughter’s tickets booked. She’ll be home for a nice long visit!
How fun to have Emma home for over a month! Love that. I’ll see my daughter for about 2 weeks in the UK and am really looking forward to that.
I have reviews I haven’t written from last year and haven’t met my goal since COVID hit us. At this point I don’t care either. Still have to write my review for Lucy By The Sea which I loved.
Sounds like you have a full schedule again, glad your daughter is visiting you, will you son be joining also?

We were trying to all be together for Christmas but now that cats are involved, things are a little more challenging to schedule. My son would have to bring his cat. My daughter is trying to bring her kitten. My poor pup is going to lose it. So right now, it doesn’t look like my son will come down. Root Beer hasn’t been feeling well and has had a little anxiety so he isn’t so sure how she would do on the flight. I worry enough about my daughter traveling but she will be calling United today to find out about the cat. I know there are limitations on how many pets can be on the plane.
I’m so glad that you’re getting to your walks. Sounds like you have your holiday plans all nailed down! 🙂 I need to read about 12 more books to meet my goal. I have hope, but I have no plans to push it.
Tis the season to watch Love Actually again, ha. It’s always sort of fun. I hope you have a happy holiday season & it’s great you will be off soon & your daughter will be home. Is your son coming home too? cheers.
