Did you know that Stephen King has a new book coming out September 6th? Fairy Tale sounds amazing! It comes out a day after my birthday so I must prepare now and ask for time off. Ha!
Here’s a synopsis:
Legendary storyteller Stephen King goes into the deepest well of his imagination in this spellbinding novel about a seventeen-year-old boy who inherits the keys to a parallel world where good and evil are at war, and the stakes could not be higher—for that world or ours. ~ Indiebound
I don’t have much scheduled for this week which is how I like it. Besides some work projects, my ME time has been spent with the cat and pup. There’s a routine now and sometimes that routine involves me taking the cat with us on walks. But, the pup doesn’t like it when I have the stroller with us so my one attempt was comically observed by many neighbors. Root Beer kept throwing all her weight to the back of the stroller so it would tip over. The Otter Pup thinks she is a show off. They are both very dramatic. I have NO idea where they get that from.
I finished Greenwich Park and scheduled the review for this Friday so I immediately picked up Ocean State. If I don’t have another book lined up I tend to get distracted so off I go to spend some time with O’Nan. I love his writing. I am curious about this one, it seems very short.
Later today I am going to go through review copies to see what’s available. That is always dangerous. I could end up with dozens of review copies but I haven’t looked lately and need to see what’s coming for summer.
That’s all I have. I hope you have a great day!
I’m looking forward to Fairy Tales as well; what a great way to celebrate the day after your birthday. Sounds like you reading is really coming back now. I read both of the ones mentioned and thought they were decent – Ocean State a bit more than Greenwich Park.
I think my bday falls on Labor Day this year too!! Whoopie!
I saw something about the new King book. Another venture by him into the ‘fantasy’ world? Glad it will come out right by your birthday. I’ll be curious what you thought about Greenwich Park. I was a bit annoyed with that book or maybe just that main protagonist. LOL
The main protag of Greenwich was a tad annoying. My review posts this Friday. I liked it a lot more than you did, from the sound of it.
Oooh, SK’s new book sounds great. He does such a good job telling a story from the POV of a teenage boy.
Can’t wait to get my hands on O’Nan’s latest, too.
Have a good week!
I am excited about Fairy Tales; I hope there’s some Brothers Grimm-like atmosphere. 🙂 The cat is dramatic and now she’s inching in on the Pup’s time alone with you. Goodness. Root Beer better watch out. 😉 JK Have a great weekend…it’s another swim meet weekend for us, so we’ll be busy.
Root Beer is very much a kitten but she realizes when Chloe feels left out and moves over for her.
I love that you, the Otter Pup, and Rootbeer have become a little threesome, figuring out your walks, reading and work time 🙂
Today a neighborhood cat came up to the slider to say hi to Root Beer and Chloe threw herself at the door to chase the scamp off. LOL. At first I thought it was a bobcat because we have those but it had a tag and collar so I guess Root Beer has some fans.
