The Sunday Salon: Dating, Church and Food

Sunday Salon

It’s Sunday! How have you been? I am still recovering from the fact that The Boy went on a double date last night. I told him that 16 is when he can consider dating but this was with friends from ASB (associated student body) so he argued the point. Dinner and then back to her house to watch a movie. Did I mention that she drives? Yep.

Also, The Boy has started to ask me about church. I was not raised with religion, but I believe in God and although I have tried to find a church in the past to attend, I’ve not been able to find one which seems to fit. Because The Boy asked, we are now looking into this one. I’m sure the coffee house and rock music is what pulls him in, but it does look fun. The Hub is skeptical.

Today:

As of this moment, I’ve had eggs and coffee and I am about to make a trip to the market to pick-up supplies to make this:

Garlic and Lemon Chicken

I have made this dish before and it’s always good and makes the yummiest leftovers too. Garlic, lemon, chicken, potatoes and green beans. Yum.

Later today, I will read and maybe watch a movie. I really don’t want to do much because next week is registration at the high school (The Boy’s first year) and he’ll be working it the entire week. I don’t even know if I have to be there but the idea of him in high school is both exciting and stressful. The unknown and all that tends to weigh heavily on me.

Okay, bye for now. Enjoy your Sunday!

The Sunday Salon: Been a long time…

Sunday Salon

It’s been awhile since I posted a Salon post. I think I missed a week or two since I tend to stay away from the computer on the weekend. I spend so much time on it for work that when I get home, I can’t stand to be on it. Needless to say, I missed you!

The weekend has been nice. The horrible 110 degree weather of last week said goodbye (for now) and left us with sunny skies but cooler temps. Last night we hit a concert in one of our local parks. It was Led Zepp night. I never listened to the band growing up because I was more of a Mod-Punk listener, but I thought they were pretty good. We had a picnic and just watched The Boy receive texts and then wander off to say hello to his friends. There was a cloud of teens hanging out by the playground and I swear The Boy was called at least five times to go over there.

Today, we are just cleaning up around the house, watching movies, listening to music and reading. Later, we will indulge in a little Chinese food and probably watch more movies. It’s maybe a little predictable for me, but I can’t complain. I just love hanging out at home.

For those following my Jerk posts. The Boy found out last night that three of the players from the team, also his friends, quit right before a big tournament and left the Jerk hanging. I am hoping this guy is gone by the start of school and a new coach comes in. Then, maybe The Boy can try out as planned.

Anyway, I am off to do more laundry and finish The Bird Saviors. It got a little strange so I am not chunking away at it as I normally do.

What do you have planned for today?
