Little Shop of Horrors comes to a close this afternoon. My daughter did really well. She’s done many shows but this one and the last one she did, Footloose, showed so much growth as a performer. We are so very proud of her. I will share pics once I have them.
Thank you for the good thoughts and prayers regarding her health during this show. She made it through.
Right Now:
Church, and then we are off to see the show again.
This Week:
We have a little break this week and then next week, classes start. I can’t believe she will be going into 11th grade.
This week, I am going to begin the writing project that I keep teasing. I don’t mean for it to be a tease. It’s more like I just keep procrastinating. I plan to start and then I don’t. It may not turn out to be anything. I will start on Tuesday with an outline. There. I’ve committed.
Reading:
I have been reading some great books lately. My review of The Friends We Keep will post this week. I loved it so much.
I just started City of Girls. It’s starting off very strong. I have high hopes for it.
Watching:
I haven’t been able to watch much this week with all of the rehearsals going on. I did watch the Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee episode with Eddie Murphy. I’ve always loved Murphy. He was really low-key in the episode but mentioned that he is thinking about returning to stand-up. That would be awesome.
New Things I’ve Tried:
Do you guys have Ralph’s or Kroger’s where you are? They make the best Gluten Free frozen pizza on the planet and it’s so inexpensive. I add chopped veggies and sometimes extra cheese to make it really good but on its own, it’s pretty fabulous. It’s allowed me to enjoy pizza once again.
Grateful for:
So grateful that my daughter was able to perform as planned. As Bryan mentioned to me in a comment, my kids always seem to get sick before a show but with mandatory rehearsals, performers come to work sick as dogs and it spreads around. Plus, long nights, little sleep, stress and not eating right. It adds up. I try to build their immunity up beforehand but it doesn’t always work.
Keeping with the theatre theme, what is your favorite musical? I love Cabaret.
