It’s that time of the year again!! Time for the R.I.P XVI Challenge! Each year this challenge gets easier and easier. Basically, you grab your scary reads and movies and enjoy them from September 1 – October 31. There is also a Group Read component if you are interested in that. Just follow @perilreaders on Twitter or Instagram for all the details.
As you know, I was away for a little bit and this challenge, although one of my faves snuck up on me. I don’t have a formal list of reads or movies but there are some horror movies that I wouldn’t mind seeing:
- The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (daughter said it was terrifying)
- Candyman
- American Horror Stories: Double Feature (already watching)
For books, I am thinking about these:
- The Family Plot by Megan Collins
- My Heart is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones
As you can see, I am pretty loose and flexible this year. Just going with mood and what feels good. Are you joining the fun?
I’m always astonished to see how many people participate in this challenge. Enjoy!
I always fail to join this challenge and then end up reading something scary or watching something scary even if I failed to sign up
Glad you’ll be participating as well, Ti. You know, part of why I love this challenge is seeing what others are reading. And then thinking about trying those myself. So much of my reading would qualify for this challenge. I am on the lookout for a good Gothic book though. Suggestions?
If you’ve not read Rebecca then I must suggest that one. A classic.
Have fun! I love this challenge. I’m looking forward to reading My Heart is a Chainsaw.
I knew you couldn’t resist! Have fun!
I am excited to do this challenge and to see what you end up reading!
I’m getting my stack ready, too!
It’s my first time joining and I’m excited!
It’s just a fun event all around. No pressure. The kind I like.
Yep, I’m in! I stick to mysteries and thrillers since I no longer care to ready anything scary. Have fun with your choices!
