Readers Imbibing Peril XIII (R.I.P.)

RIP XIII

I don’t know what it is about the above graphic but it freaks me out. It reminds me of American Horror Story, I guess.

Anyway, it’s that time again! Time for the only reading challenge I participate in. I believe it runs from September 1st to October 31st.

Here are the details :

Welcome to the THIRTEENTH year of Readers Imbibing Peril, or RIP, as it is affectionately called. For the last 13 years, we here at RIP headquarters have embraced the spookiness of the seasons’ change.

The purpose of the R.I.P. Challenge is to enjoy books that could be classified as:

Mystery.
Suspense.
Thriller.
Dark Fantasy.
Gothic.
Horror.
Supernatural.
The emphasis is never on the word challenge, instead it is about coming together as a community and embracing the autumnal mood, whether the weather is cooperative where you live or not.

The goals are simple.

1. Have fun reading.

2. Share that fun with others.

The one thing that I love about this challenge is that you can read one book and still participate AND you can also watch movies.

I don’t have a reading list yet but for full details and to sign-up for the fun, click here.

What will you be reading?

  1. I always forget that this starts in September, maybe because I don’t start to think of creepy, Halloweeny things until way into October.

  2. I was just picking 4 books from my shelf for this one. I may try to add the “cabin” book u just reviewed as well.

Do you like David Sedaris- when you are in need of some laughter, he’s awesome! I especially love his audios and his latest, “Calypso”, is so funny- almost done.

  3. I love that graphic. Wow, it is super creepy for some reason and I think I’m with you…it has to be American Horror Story vibe I’m getting from it. Have a great time. I tend to join this one last minute…and I think this year will be no different.
