I hope all of the moms out there had a lovely Mother’s Day. Mine was pretty good, minus the end-of-the-day meltdown involving a train and plant. It was a “are you kidding?” moment, for sure.
For lunch, I was craving a cheeseburger so that is what I had. Simple and good and exactly what I wanted. Then, we headed to Descanso Gardens. It was cloudy but nice and then we picked up taco fixings for dinner. I can’t complain. I love to spend time outside. It clears my head and just gives me a much needed break.
Today though, I am seriously dragging. I’ve not been well for weeks and I struggle just to get through the day. What a bore. I am so ready for something different.
I am going to grab a cup of coffee and pray that its restorative properties are enough to sustain me because it’s Monday and not Friday and a girl’s gotta make the best of it. Right?
OMG…I seiously know what you mean about a cheeseburger…we have a local butcher who makes what he calls a Kennett Square Burger…they are so good! We have them bunless with a salad!
Yep! This was a charbroiled burger eaten as a lettuce wrap. It wasn’t gourmet but it was perfectly served with sliced tomato, onion and yummy special sauce. It hit the spot!
Must be cheeseburger season! I had one a few days ago, too… needed one. First time in ages! Glad you had a good Mother’s Day.
Yeah I know what you mean about Mondays. So thank god for a cheeseburger. I hope you feel better.
Thank you! At the moment I do feel a little better. I’ve been saying that off and on for weeks and then relapse so I hope it sticks this time.
And oh how I wish it were Friday and not Monday! Not least because on Fridays, I get to have my weekly treat of cheese fries, and I have been making damn good cheese fries lately. Today I virtuously ate leftovers of a vegetable pasta thing I made yesterday, and it’s tasty as well as good for me, but gosh, I wish it were cheese fries day. :p
Cheese fries??? YUM! I can’t make good cheese fries but I’ve been known to partake in chili fries at the local dive every now and then 😉
Ti, I hope you start feeling better soon. Maybe a fancy coffee drink will help LOL
I’ve been on a taco kick myself, but my hubby made me French Toast on Mother’s Day, which is my favorite breakfast food with bacon. 🙂 I had a good day. I hope you feel better soon.
Cheeseburgers were what I missed most during my vegetarian years! i am going to try the lettuce wrap idea. Mother’s Day came so early this year, it threw me off a little, but I heard from all three of my kids and am getting a new phone, so it was a good day!
Now I’m craving a cheeseburger!
That cheeseburger was really, really good. Perfectly charred with a perfect slide of red onion. LOVE.
