The cast and crew of Little Shop of Horrors hit it out of the park this weekend with amazing performances. I laughed, I cried, and I got all emotional when the seniors took their bows.
The Teen was Seymour and many of his senior friends also had leads which made the show really special.
I was choked-up through most of the show. The Pantages reps that were judging for The Jerry Herman Awards had good things to say and seemed very impressed. I can’t wait to see who is nominated.
And then, when everything was over and done with, I got to meet one of my favorite bloggers, Athira from Reading on a Rainy Day! She was visiting her family and realized that I lived in the same town so we met for lunch! We talked about all kinds of things (family, kids, books, food, you name it). We had a great time!
Needless to say, it was a pretty awesome weekend.
That sounds like a great weekend. I cannot wait to see who is nominated!
What fun!
Wow! What a great weekend! Sounds like such a fun time 🙂 The show sounds amazing! Fingers crossed regarding the nominations.
This just makes my heart happy. Such a wonderful way for The Teen to wrap up his senior year! And it’s always amazing to meet a blogger in real life. Someday I will meet you 🙂
I have been following on Facebook and Instagram your son’s play. It looks like it was awesome. As for meeting Athira, I’m super jealous as both of you are two of my favorite bloggers. How awesome for the two of you.
The show was awesome. I’m not just saying that because I am a parent either. They all nailed it.
When I met with Athira, we talked about bloggers we’ve met and ones we’d like to meet and your name came up for both of us!
Great pix of the show! Wow I can see why you’d get choked up. Looks awesome. Nice you got to meet up with Athira too. How interesting!
The kids were getting all emotional during the matinee but by the evening show, which is the one I saw they had accepted it. I was crying off and on throughout the whole darn thing. Not bawling just losing a tear every now and then.
And hooking up with Athira was so cool. I worried a little bit we wouldn’t recognize each other but as soon as she stepped out of the car I knew it was her.
I love it! It looks so good….the pictures are great. I would get emotional too. It’s a special moment. It’s fun meeting fellow bloggers, isn’t it?
What fun! I’ve met a handful of bloggers… in NYC, London, and at Edith Wharton’s home, The Mount, in the Berkshire Mountains. It’s always such pleasure. Thanks for sharing photos from the show, too… and I remembered being chocked up at every single event when my kids were seniors.
It was SO SO good to meet you! Can you believe that was one week ago? Wow, this week went quick. I hope you have had plenty of rest time and that things are slowing down some. Keep me posted on the Teen’s school update.
Amazing to see photos of the show after you talked about it so much! And you met Athira – so envious!
