The Sunday Salon: Still Here!

Sunday Salon

What a week! After The Teen’s birthday, we followed it up with the extraction of his wisdom teeth (all four). We really know how to celebrate in this house! Don’t we? We’ve spent the entire weekend watching movies so he can get some rest and recover.

He’s doing great. Very little pain and swelling. But today he was getting a little antsy so we hit the mall for a short shopping trip. Back to school shopping was in full swing so we beat it out of there as soon as we could.

The Girl, God bless her, is frustrated because she’s tall enough for some of the pre-teen clothing, but she swims in most things and the smaller kid’s section is just too small for her. She’s right smack in-between sizes. I’m not sure what we are going to do as she is in need of everything this year.

What am I reading?

I am still reading House of Leaves but I got sucked into The Never List and I am almost done with Reconstructing Amelia. I just haven’t been in the mood to read too much and I have about four reviews I need to write-up. I seem to work in spurts and lately, my energy has gone to cleaning the house (sad).

What am I cooking?

I made really, really good spaghetti and meatballs last night. It was so yummy, that we may enjoy them again tonight. Why not?

What am I watching?

Let’s see. We watched Happy Gilmore (not a fave), Stand by Me and Vacation yesterday. And today, seeing that we just got home from the mall, we settled down to watch Meet the Parents. Not sure what else we’ll see after this. I hate that The Teen is incapacitated but it’s been nice to spend the weekend with him on the couch.

How has your Sunday been so far?

Happy Birthday to The Boy!

Evan at 15
The Boy, as I affectionately call him, is fifteen today! The photo on the left was taken when he was about 18 months old. Seriously. He has always looked older than his years.

Today, the poor kid is going to a funeral for one of his student government buddies. Her father passed away and he wanted to pay his respects so we celebrated his birthday last night.

Anyway, Happy Birthday!! Soon, I am going to have to call him something other than The Boy.
