Sunday Matters: Two in a Row

Sunday Matters

My second “Sunday” post in two weeks! The weather here has definitely changed. Sprinkles in the morning, cloudy and sometimes foggy. By noon though it’s back to being 80 degrees. Not a bad way to head into the next season. It’s making me want to pull out something spooky to read.

Right Now:

Today we have a double whammy of student ministry. Normal services in the morning and then we are back  tonight for some more fun which will include laser tag.

This Week:

Hoping to hear more from my doctor this week.

We will be looking at flights for my daughter because she got the week of Thanksgiving off so she will be flying down for a short visit. This is kind of cool because my son is coming for Thanksgiving too. JUST Thanksgiving. Flies in in the morning and leaves the next morning. He’s nuts.

Reading:

Finishing up Holly by Stephen King. Next up:

The Marriage Portrait

Watching:

Still nothing. I am starting to get into the mood to pull out some Halloween faves though.

I hope you all have a good week. I truly appreciate you all.

  1. It’s so hard now in terms of TV watching, or videos (does anyone but me watch their own DVD? haha). Everyone has different streaming stations. Time was, well my time anyway, there was ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS. It is SO, SO much better now because one can pick and choose what “stations” we want to pay for. But it makes it harder to share with others.

    1. I hear ya. I can absolutely relate to not being able to share or talk about shows because everyone is on a different platform. My son is a big Max viewer. I prefer Netflix when I have time to just sit and watch. Most of the stuff I turn on ends up in the background anyway. 🙂

  2. How fun that you’re going to have both your children home for Thanksgiving! I may not seen my daughter until December when her semester finishes.

  3. It’s great to hear about your Sunday post and the changing weather! The mix of sprinkles, clouds, and fog followed by a sunny 80-degree afternoon sounds like quite the transition. And I’m with you on the spooky reads – it’s the perfect time to dive into something eerie and atmospheric.

Sounds like you’ve got a busy day ahead with student ministry, including laser tag! That’s bound to be a blast.

Hoping for good news from your doctor this week, and it’s exciting that your daughter and son will both be visiting for Thanksgiving, even if it’s a quick trip for your son!

As for your reading and Halloween faves, it’s that time of year when cozying up with a spooky book or movie is a must.

Wishing you a fantastic week ahead, and we appreciate you too! 🍁📚🎃

  4. I’m glad both kids will be home for Thanksgiving, but yes. Your son is crazy! 😉

I have The Marriage Portrait in my stacks, but it hasn’t called to me, so we’ll see when I get around to it. I did just buy her memoir yesterday while shopping in Sidney, B.C.. I’ve heard good things about that book, too.

  5. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving and you get some news from the doctor soon. How goes Holly reading? I’m about halfway at this point and the COVID stuff is there still but now I find it to be a little more like background…grounding me in the time period.
