Good morning! The house feels really good right now. Carpets shampooed and all little tidbits of stuff Jinx was playing with have been put away or sent to her. The pup is a happy camper! She has her sunny stair back and dozes uninterrupted. I’ve never seen a dog smile so much.
My daughter got back to Missouri just fine. On the third day of school she had a snow day. Luckily she stocked up on food beforehand. Here we are, already at the end of January. I feel a touch of spring in the air, at least out here in Southern California.
Right Now:
I was going to sit back and enjoy my coffee but the sun is hitting this desk just right and all I see is dust. Need to jump on that.
Then, off to student ministry. We have a special event tonight so I will be heading back there this evening after today’s message.
This Week:
I have a lot on the calendar this week. It seems a little overwhelming. Plus, when my daughter was driving back from Disneyland something hit my windshield. It was a small crack but yesterday it went from an icy morning to 71 degrees so now the crack is all across the window. Getting it replaced on the 4th but I don’t think I can drive it that way.
Reading:
I finished The The Deluge. Click the link to catch the review. That was nearly 900 pages of “rough”. Markley is a master storyteller but climate change is a real horror show. After that one I needed something lighter so I went with Exiles.
Watching:
Still haven’t settled on a show to watch. There is so much out there right now. Here’s what I have in mind:
- Wednesday
- Yellowstone
- The White Lotus
- Only Murders in the Building (started it but lost interest)
- Kaleidoscope
Grateful for:
- Crisp, sunny days. It’s beautiful here.
- The YouVersion Bible app. It’s handy, it keeps me in the Bible and it’s a great way to wind down at the end of the day.
- That we found a new tax person after our beloved tax lady retired. I was going to do it myself but I just don’t have the energy or the drive these days.
How are you doing? Tell me.
I’m going to say that White Lotus will be the one “up your alley,” I think. I can see how for you Only Murders in The Building would be a bore. It’s too light for you, I’m thinking, based on other shows you like to watch.
You know me well. That is probably why I keep stalling on Only Murders. My son was telling me about The End of Us or something like that. I just started to hear a lot about it too. I do think Lotus will be next.
Glad your girl got back OK and life at your house is settling back to normal. I want to read EXILES and am excited about it coming out. Hope you have a good time today with your ministry. 🙂
Happy Almost February!
Glad your daughter got back ok, sorry to hear about you windshield, it fun watching them replace it though.
We enjoyed White Lotus, but also like Truth Be Told with Octavia Spencer. We also lost interest in Only Murder.
I just started My Sister, The Serial Killer. It’s different, I like it.
Have a great week!
Wednesday was fun to watch with my daughter. But there’s kitschy/dark humor…I’d say it’s less scary. 🙂 I haven’t watched any of the other shows.
I hope you get the windshield replaced…that’s not safe to drive.
I can see how you’d like a lighter read after Deluge.
It’s so good to have the kids home, but then really good to settle back in to normal life when they go, too! We had to get our windshield replaced recently, too. Something must have hit us on I95… all those trucks. The crack grew from a couple of inches to almost a foot before they could fix it. Luckily it was on the passenger side. Hope you have a good week, Ti!
“I’ve never seen a dog smile so much.” Lol
Glad your daughter made it home ok! I’d love to have some snow here!
I definitely wouldn’t drive with your windshield that bad. Something hit mine a few years ago but it was only a small spot and only grew some crack lines about 1/4th an inch around it, making it look like a tiny sun. I’m not going to worry about it unless it starts growing more.
I had to turn the heat on because of the freezing temps and as soon as that window warmed up it cracked all the way across. Will be replaced this Saturday providing there is no rain.
Wow! I’m glad you weren’t driving when it cracked, that could have been very bad!
I am busy watching Narcos, which is so violent, but so well done.
