Hello, friends. Once again it is Sunday and I am feeling all the things.
- The Girl heads back to Missouri State on 8/6.
- I head back to in-person work on 8/9.
- Student ministry is about to kick off a new season. New students, new pastor, new volunteers!
The planner that has mostly sat empty all year is now filling up with special dates and events. It makes me a bit twitchy. You will be proud of me though. I will NEVER go back to how it was before the shutdown. I limit myself to only a few appointments a week now and if it doesn’t fit into that rule then it’s re-booked or not booked at all.
Right Now:
Enjoying some coffee while watching the morning news and then I am off to student ministry. It will be a busy day.
Reading:
Still reading The Last Chairlift. I am really liking it. Trying to pick up my pace a little so that I can read other books along with it but so far it’s my main squeeze.
Watching:
We settled on a new Korean show to watch. Sisyphus. It’s about time travel and there is a lot of action. Good acting. Very entertaining.
Grateful for:
- Friends who can tell when something is a little bit off with me, and reach out. I had an off week. One of those weeks where you just wonder “Why?” and no less than three people noticed it and reached out. What a difference that made. Thank you.
- Venmo. It’s the preferred method of payment for my daughter’s new apartment and it just makes things much easier for this mama.
Have a great Sunday! Try to do something fun today even if that is hanging out on the porch with your new read.
It’s nice that with all that is coming up that you’ve learned not to overextend yourself – so important. Sorry the past week was not the best – same here but, thank goodness for nap time and book time. I hope the coming week is a good one.
I, too, hope your coming week is good. And sorry about this past week. Aren’t we lucky when we have friends who ‘notice’? Take care, Ti!
Things are about to get busy again, but it sounds like you have a good plan to keep from getting to be too much. Hope you have a better week ahead… and your daughter’s return to college goes well, too. She’ll be living off campus this year?
Yes. She will be living off campus, across the street, sharing a four bedroom apartment with her three theater classmates. It’s a nice place and actually a little cheaper than her dorm.
I have been absent from the blogs this week with the condo stuff and other personal things that have kept me from reading and blogging. I am sorry you were out of sorts and hope that it feels better this coming week.
Having your daughter go back to school and going back in to work are two big changes so allow yourself some grace as you adjust.
The older I get the more “less” I want to be doing, it means less stress and I love that.
My last few weeks have been working too many days in a row and still not so much reading.
I’m glad you’re feeling better. I hope you have a great week!
It’s such a blessing to have friends who can tell something is off and reach out to help. Have a great week!
So glad to hear you’re not overbooking yourself. I’m trying not to do the same. I need to make some medical checkup appts. this month before school starts, but other than that with 2 swim teams done, I’m enjoying the break
I’ve had several unduly long weeks recently myself — no real reason, unless you count the news as a reason, which I suppose I must. 😛 I hope this coming week is a better one for you!
Enjoy one more week of vacation. Sorry to see your daughter go. I hope she has a great school year. I’ll be headed to SoCal next Thurs …. but dealing with selling the house here …. so my mind is far away. Hope things will work out ….
I think a lot of us have learned some life lessons from the pandemic and are making smarter choices about how we want to spend our free time. I know I have! So your daughter has headed back to school and you are getting ready to head back to work. I hope it all goes well for you. I’m glad to hear that the new Irving book is good. It’s on my list!
