Sunday Matters: The End of the School Year is Approaching

sunday-matters (1)
Hello, again! These Sundays seems to come around quickly. We are in a heat wave here. Close to 95 degree temps this past week. I enjoy the warm weather. If summer could cap itself at 90 I would be a happy lady. Last year we had a pretty mild summer. I don’t think it once hit 120 but this year has been unpredictable. I certainly hope this early warm weather isn’t hinting at a sweltering summer.

It feels like just yesterday when I was stressing over moving the Girl to Missouri and now we are about to plan her move back. It’s all up in the air right now because we still aren’t sure about summer acting plans. We need to figure out the storage situation as she won’t be able to move into her apartment until August. Flights are always difficult with that tiny airport in Springfield. She always has to drive to another airport and she has no car so it’s a challenge. Wish us luck.

Right Now:

Student ministry is still on break but I have lunch with some of the leaders today. We are hitting up an Indian buffet and I can’t wait. Their food is yummy and I am so glad that buffets post-Covid are starting to come back.

Reading:

I finished Murakami T: The T-Shirts I Love. It was a lot of fun to read about his favorite t-shirts. Seems like an odd topic but in his hands it’s always interesting. My review of Greenwich Park  posted last Friday so stop by if you missed it.

My current read is Nan Rossiter’s new one, A Good Measure. It comes out April 12th and Nan has offered me a copy to giveaway so look for that review soon.

A Good Measure

Watching:

We started Ozark. We are halfway through season one. That is one wild show.

Grateful for:

  • Booster #2. I debated getting it because of my kidney issues but ended up getting it. No issues so far.
  • Book mail. I don’t know about other bloggers but I had a dry spell for awhile and received no books for months. The other day I received two. It made me so happy.

Have a wonderful Sunday and great week! My family is not on board with me cooking an Easter meal so I have no idea what we will do next weekend.

  1. We are facing similar issues with the end of the school year. Do we put Sophia’s stuff in storage in Poughkeepsie and go there in August to move it to Ithaca or drive it to Ithaca in May? Ugh. Either way it’s a pain. And we need to find her housing. It all give me the stomach flutters! 🙂

  2. I can’t imagine temps around 120! I think I’d have to leave for the entire summer.

Hard to believe your daughter is almost finished with her first year. Good luck with all the travel plans to get her back to CA.

We plan to get our second boosters once we return to Oregon. We didn’t have time before our trip to Nashville and I’m hoping we haven’t been infected on our travels. So far, so good!

    1. Two summers ago we had a few days where it hit 120 and it felt like the end of the world. Like I opened an oven door and stuck my head in. It was horrid. I remember because out AC died and it was my bday. That was in September!

  3. That heat wave sounds crazy – this early. I hope the summer won’t be terrible. I’d like to get booster #2 … but they aren’t giving them here. Grrr. Glad you are staying safe.
