We said goodbye to the rain, but in came the cold. I like to be cozy so as long as I can cuddle up with a blanket, which I even do at work, I am good. But when I have to attend a meeting in a very cold conference room, I look a little odd carrying my blanket around. So be it. I got hit with a cold this week and I don’t care what I look like with my blanket.
Right Now:
Just sitting here. Still trying to recover from whatever happened to my throat after that allergic reaction and this cold on of it. I feel as if I damaged some vocal cords. Inflammation CAN do that because it happened to me once before so I hope this is not happening again.
In a little bit, we will head off to church. Later, volunteering with the high school ministry. We have a new, earlier start time which means I will be back before 7 p.m. and in plenty of time for The Walking Dead.
This Week:
My daughter has auditions for Grease on Monday & Tuesday. I have to run her to her orthodontist appointment during her audition and then run her back.
My son got a callback for Bright Star. Hopefully I will have news on that later.
My life group meets on Tuesday and we will be having a “Gal-en-tine” celebration. I am making spinach and artichoke dip which I will serve with tortilla chips.
Nothing planned for Valentine’s Day but maybe we will order in.
I was supposed to do Winter camp with my high school group over President’s Day weekend but it was cancelled due to low enrollment. I am keeping my vacation request as is though. Long weekend? Yes, please!
Reading:
Trying to wrap-up An Anonymous Girl. My word for the year should have been SLOW because I am not reading very quickly these days.
Watching:
I haven’t been watching anything but I plan to watch The Walking Dead premiere tonight. I don’t want to give up on the show but it hasn’t been good at all and now that Rick is gone. Well, I just don’t know.
New Things I’ve Tried:
A blogger friend introduced me to Korean skin care videos on YouTube. Seriously, those girls know how to take care of their skin. Anyway, I noticed that most of them used cleansing balms to remove makeup so I picked up a cheap version of one I heard about, Ponds Cleansing Balm. It’s really weird! It is like solid coconut oil but liquefies as soon as it hits your skin. It melts off my makeup very quickly. I don’t wear much but I had my daughter use it for her stage makeup and it worked well.
Grateful for:
Very grateful that my weekend has been quiet. Gotta get over this cold. I cannot stand being all stuffed-up.
That’s all I have. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.
Sorry to see you’re sick. The flu is raging around here – 2 schools have had to close for a few days to try to stem the tide of it. I hope you feel better soon.
We NEVER go out on Valentine’s Day because the crowds are awful.
Oh yeah, I laugh about going out on Valentine’s Day. I don’t even go out on Mother’s Day, for the same reason unless it’s some hold in the wall place that I know will not be busy. Even with V day falling mid-week it’s still bad.
Colds are just awful, I hope this one is short-lived for your sake.
Some doctor from long ago told me that if it’s a cold, it’s two days coming, two days staying, and three days leaving and that is exactly what happened. One week and gone. So much better today.
I love Korean cosmetics. I just bought this magnetic mask that is amazing. It smooths on creamy and comes off in magnetic particles. Feel better!
I can’t envision what a magnetic mask does or looks like. Comes off in particles?
Ti…it’s amazing…I am sending you a link!
Long weekends are the best. My next one doesn’t come until Memorial Day… Hope you will begin feeling better today, especially in time for The Walking Dead. 🙂
I feel much better. The horrible sore throat I had just disappeared and my fever broke. No coughing or sneezing. Very strange but it seems to be pretty much gone. The Walking Dead was good. Today, my DVR crashed though so at least it waited until AFTER my show.
Hope you feel better soon, Ti. I’ve had a couple of days of bad sore throat/allergy issues. Me and the tea kettle have been on close speaking terms lately. Ha! Take care and hope the auditions go well.
Same. Tea with honey, and lots of it. It’s the only time I drink tea but the sore throat was just so bad. The worst I’ve had in forever. But today, gone. I feel so much better.
No rest for the working moms! I hope you feel better as you enter what sounds like a busy week. I get a 4-day weekend for the presidents’ birthdays so I hope to get cozy on the couch and read. My reading has also been a bit slow (until this weekend when I read On the Come Up by Angie Thomas).
I feel a lot better today. My fever broke early yesterday and magically the sore throat disappeared. This week will be a little busy but not bad. Thomas is the author who wrote The Hate U Give, right? That’s the next book for my book club but they changed the date to discuss it and now I am not sure I can attend.
Yes, Angie Thomas wrote The Hate U Give. Such a good book
feel better soon. It stinks when you don’t feel well.
It was weird to be hit with this right after that allergic reaction. I am better today.
I’m just getting over a cold. Coughing, sore throat, runny/stuffy nose, sneezing etc. Still feeling a bit lightheaded but am a lot better. I hope your cold is gone soon and your vocal cords aren’t damaged.
I’ve pretty much made a full recovery. Maybe a touch of hoarseness but that’s it. I hope you feel better soon.
Oh good luck to both your kids with all the auditioning! And I hope so much that you start feeling better soon!
I hope you are feeling better. But is it still raining out there? Looks chilly. What happened to Rick on TWD? We’ve watched a few episodes of The Passage … and it reminds me a bit of The Walking Dead. Similar. I hope The Girl got a callback on Grease. That would be fun. Rest up this weekend …. i fear the February cold streak continues.
