Best of 2017: My Favorites

I didn’t read as many books as I had hoped. Life events got the best of me this year but a few books managed to take me to another place and so I list them here.

  1. Little Fires Everywhere made my list (and about a million others) this year, too. Did You Ever Have a Family was a favorite a couple of years ago… and I still need to read Lincoln in the Bardo. Happy New Year, Ti!

  2. Did you Ever Have a Family made my list last year, it was SO good. I know Little Fires Everywhere is making so many best of lists but for some reason I’m resisting picking up the print version…I tried it in audio and was bored with the narration. Happy New Year!!

  3. Hello there Ti! I’ve read THE PARTY on your list and am trying to remember more about it. I definitely want to read Celeste Ng’s book soon. Her first was a favorite of mine, though not a typical ‘mystery’.

Here’s hoping you and your family have a wonderful 2018! I’m back to blogging tomorrow. 🙂

  4. Several members of the Man Booker panel I was on this year loved Lincoln in the Bardo, too. I liked the first half, and then it wore on into tedium for me. But, I agree with you on My Absolute Darling. Such a powerful, devastating book, and yet there is hope at the bottom of the mess.

  5. Thank you for sharing your favorites list with us, Ti! I really want to read Little Fires Everywhere this coming year. I’ve heard such good things about it. I hope you have a wonderful 2018 in books (and in everything else!).

  6. Little Fires seems to be popping up on everyone’s lists. I bought it for my daughter-in-law for Christmas – sure hope she passes it on to me when she’s done!

  7. I enjoyed Little Fires and Bardo. I’m still on the wait list for The Party at the library but I think I will get it soon. Nice list.
