Sunday Matters: The Easter Edition

Sunday Matters

Right Now:

Happy Easter! Normally we’d be heading out to church right now, but our church had several Easter services to choose from so we attended service on Friday. Our friends were getting baptized too, so it was a VERY special service.

Today, The Girl has a friend coming over for brunch and then later we will enjoy a simple Easter dinner.

Easter - Cross

This Week:

This is Spring Break for my kids but The Hub is not able to take time off and The Teen leaves for his choir tour to San Diego on Wednesday so this is not a typical week. There is still one rehearsal for The Teen and three nights of track practice for The Girl to prepare for Saturday’s meet.

Reading:

My reading has been so slow because of the eye problem but I went to the doctor again and there is no permanent damage to the eye. It’s just taking a long time to heal because of all the computer work I’ve had to do for my job.  So I have some new drops and after being off the computer all weekend, the eye feels good. Now, I just have to keep it that way.

Watching:

The Girl and I went to see Cinderella. It was a very sweet movie. I thought the acting was pretty good and the visuals were really lovely.

On the other side of the spectrum, Breaking Bad. I am on the very last episode of season five. It’s killing me.

Making:

This morning we are having bacon and cinnamon rolls and maybe some eggs for me. I love eggs over easy. I don’t have any of that good gluten free bread left though.

Later, I am making an apricot glazed ham, mashed potatoes, green beans with almonds, corn and biscuits.

Grateful for:

This day at home with the family.

  1. I thought I saw you were at Easter service on Friday and was wondering about that. I was thinking, “I wonder if they know that Easter is on Sunday?” 😉 Bacon and eggs, of course, sound good to me. Actually the cinnamon rolls too for that matter. Hope you have a lovely Easter with your family.

  2. I scratched my eye once and you’d have thought I was dying. You really take these things for granted until you don’t have it. My reading has been slow because I’m binging on all kinds of TV shows. I can’t stop, it’s crazy. But Breaking Bad…nothing is better. Message me when you finish.

  3. Happy Easter! I would love to go watch Cinderella too. I am just nuts about fairy tale movies so this will be fun to watch. Glad to hear that eye is healing, albeit slowly. Hope it is in good shape asap so you can get back to reading more!

  4. Mmmm…bacon and eggs. I love eggs over easy too. If you don’t have bread, hash browns are a great way to soak up the yolk too.

Have a wonderful week! My kids’ spring break ends today, and Connor got home from his band trip to Orlando yesterday. It was both odd and relaxing to not have so much stuff to do in the evenings and only have one kid at home. Enjoy!

  5. So glad to hear your eye is healing. Hub made an orange-glazed ham – it was fabulous. We hosted my cousin’s dot who goes to college a few hours away (her parents live 20+ hours away) so it was fun to have family. I really think we need a better term than ‘second cousin’; I call her my ‘cousin-niece’.

  6. Sounds like a great way to spend Easter. Anna and her family came over for dinner and we had some great quality time hanging out. It was good, and my daughter had a fabulous time showing off her new dress and her nail polish to Anna’s older daughter.

  7. Gosh.. spending too much time on Computer does hurt the eyes… is it the case we have to remember to blink more often? You take good care of yourself Ti.

  8. Your meal sounds great! We had a lovely meal at my sister’s but I often wish I could make holiday meals exactly the way I’d like them.

  9. It sounds like you had a lovely Easter weekend! I’m glad your eye is feeling better, although hopefully you won’t have to spend another weekend off the computer (I can’t imagine going for that long without looking at a screen …)
