This past week was a blur. I had THE WORSE HEAD COLD ever. I thought I had it under control at one point and then it went south from there. Two and half days off from work, with me coming back to (what felt like) a zillion tasks left me completely out-of-it come Saturday. But, after getting reacquainted with my Neti Pot, and finding the right combination of meds, I am back in the land of the living.
With the week the way it was, I wasn’t able to connect with some of you. I tried to at one point and got about half way through my reader and then just couldn’t look at the screen any longer. I will be catching up with all of you between today and tomorrow. I look forward to reading about what you’ve all been up to.
As for reading, I finished what will probably be my favorite book of the year. I have yet to write-up the review, but I hope to get it out this week. I was laughing and crying at the same time. It was wonderful. Next up, Dostoevsky’s Notes from the Underground and Perrotta’s The Leftovers.
No plans today. Yet.
I’ve had coffee.
I’ve bathed the Otter Pup (our puppy Chloe). I don’t think we could possibly love a dog more. Here’s a recent photo of her, just after her bath.
School starts on Wednesday and Thursday for my kids so we may hit Ventura today, or Old Town Pasadena, or… Not sure yet but we’ll be going somewhere.
Have a wonderful Sunday!

I’m glad you’re feeling better Ti. I wasn’t feeling too good this past week either. Chloe is just adorable! It’s amazing how quickly they capture our hearts and don’t let go! Hope the rest of your Sunday is good. I’m curious to see what this book is that you’re raving about. lol.
I’m sorry you’ve been under the weather. Summer cold are the absolute worst!
Glad to hear you are feeling better! Looking forward to the review of your favorite book of the year!
So glad you’re better! I have flirted with the idea of getting a Neti pot, but I’m afraid I’ll forget and use it as a tea pot….
The Pup is beautiful…have fun today and I am glad you are feeling better!!!
I am frightened of NetiPots. I haven’t used one yet though.
And I wonder if you and Alyce read the same book. She read her favorite book of the year this past week too. If it is the same book, I’m going to run and buy it immediately.
Hope you get 100% better !
Glad to hear you are feeling better Ti. I am dying to know what this favorite book of the year is???
So glad to hear that you’re feeling better!! Your pup is completely adorable!! Enjoy your last few days of summer vacation with the kids.
I want an Otter Pup. Such a sweet little baby. I know you were suffering from a cold, and there is nothing worse than a summer cold! Enjoy the benefits of school-free life, but then relish in having them in the care of the teachers for the entire day! I’ve been pretty lame with my blog hopping. Here is to a better week!?
I can’t stand the suspense! What is your favorite novel of the year?
My husband swears by the Neti Pot but I’m too chicken to try it. I think it will try to drown me. Glad you’re feeling better though!
The first time I used a neti pot I did sort of choke a bit, but you learn to close your throat after the first time. I also put too much salt in it the first time and fried my nasal membranes. LOL! They work though. Seriously.
yipes! glad you’re feeling better. nothing worse than being knocked out by a cold. love the pup, by the way! such a cutie. and school starts this week? scandalous! i can’t imagine starting before labor day. i think it’s against the law around here. ant and i loved pasadena–walked around the neighborhood where they filmed the original halloween movie. all i can tell you is that the homes were lovely, there was a railroad crossing, a yummy place for brunch, and a cute antique store. lol.
Sorry to hear you weren’t feeling good this week but glad to hear you are getting better. I’m hoping to find work/life balance this week – I’m going to start implementing some rules (ie: no computer after 10PM). I need to find time to relax, read, yoga….
I can’t believe school starts this week. WOW!
Doggie is cute as a button! Such a sweet little face. I love seeing people’s pets. Sorry you’ve been so sick. Glad to hear you are on the mend. Anxious to hear what that “best” book is:)
I love my neti pot — I don’t love being sick and I’m so very sorry — there’s nothing worse than a summertime cold! 😦 I hope you’re feeling better and taking it easy!
Thanks! I am much better today even though I am at work! Pooh!
I am glad that you are feeling much better now! Phew! And your puppy looks so so cute! I love them right after a bath, they just can’t wait to get the water off themselves!
(((hug))) from this side of the Ocean. Glad to know you’re recovering and getting back to your old self. Keep us posted!
Argh, I had a summer cold too — what’s with that?! I still lose my voice all of a sudden when I’m talking and have to hack up a lung to get it back again… delightful. I hope you’re feeling better!
Can’t believe school is back in session already! Oh my gosh — summer flies by. Nice for parents who can stop trying to keep their kids entertained, though. 😉
Your dog is so cute! Chloe is a great name for a dog.
Thanks, Cass! We love her to pieces!
