Flash From The Past

As some of you know, I have been sick all weekend. Thanks for all of your well wishes. I do believe the fever has broken so that’s good. Just in time to go back to work! Grrr.

I spent the entire weekend eating, reading, watching TV and napping and not necessarily in that order. This morning I woke up and noticed that the Sci-Fi channel was running a marathon of Land of the Lost. Remember that show? My kids and I sat down and laughed at all the cheesy special effects. Will was such a hottie. He reminded me of Greg Brady.

After dosing myself with Tylenol and Codeine, I passed out and then woke to an empty house. Turns out the Hub took the kids for Slurpees so I had the house to myself. I took that opportunity to finish The Middle Place by Kelly Corrigan and cried my eyes out. It’s such a good book. I cannot wait to hear Kelly Corrigan on Book Club Girl’s Blog Talk Show this Wednesday. Click here for more info on that.

We just threw the burgers, hot dogs and corn on the grill so it looks like dinner is well on its way to the table. We’ll sit out on the patio tonight and enjoy the view and then I may have another Tylenol and Codeine cocktail to wash it all down.

  1. One can never have enough Codeine and Tylenol. Ever.

Land of the Lost? That is so cool!

  2. I remember that show-it WAS a long time ago!! I hope you are really feeling up for work before you go back–remember your advice to me back when I had bronchitis? Stay in bed and REST! πŸ™‚

I took a break from Steven King today and read something a little lighter–a comedy of manners written in the 1790’s by Fanny Burney. (It was left in manuscript form until just recently)

The Middle Place sounds fantastic and is one I found for a Friday Finds post a while back. Maybe I will find a give away for this one soon?!
    You take care now—

  3. Wow.. that was a long time ago..Definite flash from the past. I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Very nice to wake up to a quiet house. Happy Tuesday….

  4. I know!! I am soooo showing my age with this post. Look at that pic. It’s so yellow! I tried to find one of Will (the hottie) but couldn’t find one.

  5. That is a blast from the past! I guess it’s good I didn’t know it was on or else I would have spent the day watching the Land of the Lost marathon instead of catching up on some of my reading. πŸ™‚

I am so glad to hear your fever broke, Ti! Maybe you can take an extra day off just to make sure you really are feeling better. You don’t want to pass what you have on to someone else after all. πŸ˜‰

I hope you enjoyed your BBQ. Have a great week, Ti.

  6. I’m glad to see you’re feeling better. I’m sorry to say that I’m old enough to remember Land of the Lost.

  7. Oh my goodness…I LOVED Land of the Lost and told my husband that I think I actually want to see that new movie…looks like it will be a hoot! Glad you are feeling better.

  8. We were watching some of LAND OF THE LOST this weekend as well – mostly we were laughing at the cheesiness of it, esp. since we all LOVED it as kids. πŸ™‚

  9. I’m happy to hear you’re starting to feel better. I’ve never heard of Land of the Lost. I wonder if it played in Canada.

My copy of The Middle Place never arrived in my mailbox so I won’t be joining in the chat. Hopefully it’ll still arrive one of these days though. If not I certainly have a lot of other stuff to read.

Have a good week and feel better!

  10. Hey, be careful with those meds or you’ll be posting from the Land of the Lost!! Feel better!

  11. Ti! I watched them too! It was so strange to be watching it again…and how FAKE everything looked! And what was with WESLEY? Why didn’t he use his last name? My husband and I were cracking up.

  12. I hope you feel better soon, Ti! I can’t say I remember <>Land of the Lost<>, but then I didn’t get to watch much TV when I was a kid, plus we didn’t have cable!
