Two things you should know (in addition to the 20 things I will mention here):
- The eye has not completely healed and I’ve had to cut back on reading both books and blogs so reviews are a little backed up.
- I am having problems with replying to comments on my own blog! I can reply, but doing so includes my email headers as well. WordPress knows about it and is working on it but it’s taking a long time to fix. So when I reply to you by email, you may see a lot of extra stuff in the reply.
Okay, now for this post. I was tagged a long time ago and made a note to work it in soon, and now is just the perfect time since I am so far behind in my reading.

I can twirl a baton like nobody’s business. I can do the splits. I can’t GET UP from the splits but I can still do them.
3. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST BLOG-RELATED PET PEEVE?
Bloggers who never reply to comments.
4. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST NON-BLOG RELATED PET-PEEVE?
People who do not say thank you when I hold a door for them.
5. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SONG?
One song? I can tell you this, I get really really happy when I hear Brown Eyed Girl.
6. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE ETSY SHOP?
I sometimes look at the bookish offerings and I’ve purchased custom dog tags before but even the smallest transactions seem to have problems so I don’t visit often.
7. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO SPEND YOUR FREE TIME WHEN YOU’RE ALONE?
Typically, reading but lately I try to catch some winks. I don’t sleep enough. Need to work on that.
8. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE JUNK FOOD?
Nachos. The horrible kind with the fake cheese sauce, piled high with jalapenos. The kind you get at a school, track or football event.
9. DO YOU HAVE PETS?
We have Chloe. We rescued her from the shelter at 6 months of age. She resembles an otter pup when she rolls around so she’s earned the nick The Otter Pup. Here she is, looking pissy because The Girl took her from me.
10. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE FICTION AND NONFICTION BOOKS?
Too many to list. But I do like dysfunction and darker, heavier reads. I seem to really like dysfunction in marriage and books about suburbia.
11. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE BEAUTY PRODUCT?
I am a minimalist when it comes to beauty products, but I have a few that I swear by:
- Noxzema (I have spent hundreds of dollars on cleansers and they all make me break out, but Noxzema never does and it’s dirt cheap. Makes my face feel all tingly.)
- RoC Retinol Correxion (Again, I’ve spent a lot of money on more expensive wrinkle creams but this one is $20, lasts for 3 months, used nightly and works the best).
- Coconut Lip Butter from The Body Shop (I end up buying many tubs of this because The Otter Pup chews them up! It’s the only thing she goes for, she is usually so good.)
12. WHEN WERE YOU LAST EMBARRASSED?
When I fell on Father’s Day while attempting to board a battleship for a tour.
13. IF YOU COULD DRINK ONE BEVERAGE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Water. I am not that into beverages but if I had to pick something other than water, I’d choose iced tea.
14. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE?
Again, too many to list but The Breakfast Club never gets old.
15. WHAT WERE YOU IN HIGH SCHOOL? PROM QUEEN, NERD, CHEERLEADER, JOCK, VALEDICTORIAN, BAND GEEK, LONER, ARTIST, ETC?
I was on drill team and later pep squad… which is sort of like a cheerleader. But I was also into drama and hung out with all types of people.
16. IF YOU COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU LIVE?
I’ve never been out of the country. That said, I don’t think I can accurately answer the question but someplace remote would be good, but not too remote. I’d like to be able to drive into town within a reasonable time frame.
17. PC OR MAC?
I use both for work but I prefer the operating system of my Mac.
18. LAST ROMANTIC GESTURE FROM A CRUSH, DATE, BOYFRIEND?
This is small but married people of more than 20 years will get it. I like it when The Hub pours my Sunday morning coffee and brings it to me. It’s as if he knows that I need it right at that moment.
19. FAVORITE CELEB?
Tom Hanks is pretty damn awesome but from the past, I had a thing for Doris Day. Loved her movies. I know she is still around but I miss that era.
20. WHICH BLOGGER DO YOU SECRETLY WANT TO BE BEST FRIENDS WITH?
I want to be best friends with everyone. I only follow certain bloggers and if I do, that means that I’ve identified some of my craziness in you… that’s a compliment by the way.

Noxzema, what a blast from the past. Is there any woman over 40 that didn’t use Noxzema, at least for a while? Tingly, indeed. Totally understand the romantic gesture. Kind of like making sure your car is washed. Love The Breakfast Club – I was the quiet girl/geek and I married the jock (who was also sort of a geek). Love old Doris Day movies. Enjoyed this. Hope your eye gets better soon. Good that you’re taking some time to rest and sleep.
Noxzema really is a blast from the past. I am glad they still sell the original version along with the new fresh scent version. Remember Sea Breeze? I loved that stuff.
I hope your eye heals up soon! There’s a holiday in India when nobody is allowed to read anything – basically it’s their way to wish for a better education, etc. I used to both look forward to that day and dread it. It used to be nice not to have to study but I couldn’t even read anything! So I can see how bummed out you would be not being able to read – pretty sure now is exactly when you want to read.
I didn’t know your dog’s name is Chloe. I was like, Chloe? Who is Chloe? And then you said Otter pup, so that makes sense, lol.
We have these nicknames for the Otter Pup. She hardly even knows her real name!Otter Pup, Sheesh Sheesh, The Baby, etc. My husband keeps calling her Ebola. Not funny!! And when American Horror Story was on he kept calling her Meep!

I totally get your married comment! My husband will walk the dog and leave a diet coke next to the bed:-). And while your daughter is adorable i have 2 already. I only have 1dog …and yours is really cute..can i borrow him?

Thanks for the fun quiz this a.m. I thought I was the only one of my age group (although you are younger than me, but you know what I mean) who still uses Noxzema. It has worked for me all these years – why change a good thing? Happy Easter.
I used Noxzema all through high school and never had any skin issues but then in my twenties, I used more expensive stuff and the quest began to find the perfect product. I tried everything! My skin was so irritated and rashy and yes, at the age of 40 you don’t want to be breaking out so when I saw it on the shelf at the store, I figured why not? Since then, no more problems. My daughter and teen use it too. Has to be the original formula. They have a new clean scent one that doesn’t work for me.
I loved this Ti, and feel honored that you somehow relate to the craziness of an older women like me. (Honestly, not only do I love your blog and reviews, but you remind me of my younger self in many ways).
Oh and the Noxzema has been a staple I’ve used since I was a teen. Love the smell – regular scent. That and Oil of Olay moisturizer. Both were used by my mom and she had great skin.

You answer comments all the time. Maybe not every one, but no one does that. Really? They said your eye will never feel the same? Mine eyes are so dry. I don’t think it’s helping. I see the doc tomorrow.

I re-watched The Breakfast Club during Christmas because my BIL had never seen it (he grew up in India so that’s his excuse,though flimsy). It’s hard to captivate his attention (we have that in common) but he loved watching this movie! Good taste, that boy. 😉

Whoa! I’m still reeling from your button-twirling disclosure, lol. I mean, who would’ve thought?! 😀 I’m with you on the water choice too – nothing beats water. And hubby bringing you the Sunday coffee? Insanely sweet! Mine squeezes the lemon I drink every morning with a glass of water – he just leaves the juice in the glass for me to find, mix and drink (this after 15 years together). Great list! 🙂
I hope my post said “baton” twirling and not button twirling. That would be a little odd. LOL. BTW, I don’t twirl a baton all the time. Just remember it from back in the day and when I see one, I have to pick it up.

Surely you can post some footage of you twirling a baton one of these days?! Something I never did figure out. Do your schools still have pep squads? Ours haven’t for years but then I think that both the guys and the girls have become a more integrated cheering section.

I didn’t realize the pup’s name was actually Chloe! Cute. 🙂 As is The Girl in that picture. And jalepenos for the win! I have the day to myself today and I don’t plan to get any winks. Catching up on blogs, maybe writing up my Pet Sematary post, finishing Rosie Project, already worked on some sewing (hope to do more), and mopping. UGH. But at least I can listen to audiobooks while I do that.

I really really appreciate the coffee in the morning thing these days. I didn’t use to – kind of took it for granted. Then I went through a period where I didn’t drink regular coffee, just decaf and I was so grumpy about it I put a moratorium on the hubs bringing me coffee in bed. I know. Kind of silly but there you have it. But the good news is, I recently started drinking one small cup of coconut coffee in the mornings, so we’re back to the old habit now. And I’m really liking it!

I love the Otter Pup, she’s adorable. My pup loves the coconut oil that I use, so I wonder if dogs are just attracted to it by the scent or something.
