This week was pretty good. Lots going on (as usual). Seems to be the norm with me but not a bad week overall. We had fun at the track meet yesterday. I worked the long jump pit for the first time. It was a lot of fun but it was HOT. I think The Girl struggled a little with the heat because her get up and go, got up and went. After a full day in the sun, it was nice to come home and rest a bit. Then, The Teen’s girlfriend came over for dinner. It was a good day.
Right Now:
Udi’s makes a new gluten-free bread and it’s delicious!! I am having it toasted with butter and marmalade and of course, there’s coffee too. We are about to head off to church and then from there, The Hub and Girl will be going to Six Flags. That means, that I have the afternoon to myself!
This Week:
Nothing out of the ordinary. Same old stuff for the kids with the addition of two doctor’s appointments and book club.
Reading:
This is becoming a thing but I am STILL reading The Book of Strange New Things. It’s really good and gives me lots to think about but it takes a lot of time to get through. So much so, that I forgot to read my book club pick, The Tempest. I gotta get on that for this week’s meeting.
Watching:
Tonight is all about the season finale of The Walking Dead. I feel as if we are about to lose a major character. I am thinking Glenn but I sure hope not.
Making:
Tacos!
Grateful for:
My free afternoon. I promise not to clean. I will most likely use my U-verse coupon to see Mockingjay, Part 1.
What are you up to today?
Oh no I hope you are wrong about losing a major character on TWD!!
Did you see the finale yet? I loved it.
I haven’t read anything either this week! I guess I am still settling down. But we’ve been doing lots of cleaning and decluttering so that’s always good. Of course, the husband is doing most of it. I am helpfully directing him.
Looking forward to TWD. Even though I am caught up with the books, I have no idea what’s going to happen tonight.
I thought TWD finale was perfect. I loved how it opened and how it ended.
I say watch Mockingjay and don’t clean. Seems like a given. LOL
I did watch Mockingjay and it was actually pretty good.
I have the afternoon to myself here too as my wife is off for play practice (Rapunzel: A Very Hairy Fairy Tale at the end of the month). I should be reading, but probably will end up watching Criminal Minds. Hope you’re enjoying or will enjoy Mockingjay. 🙂
I did watch Mockingjay. Albeit, with tons of interruptions but it was a lot better than I expected it to be.
I live when you get to have bread! Toasted cheese, sandwiches! It’s awesome!
I just saw Mockingjay last week and it was better than I had expected. As for TWD – OMG! Morgan is everything! I loved how he saved them – I knew he would. I’m curious to find out what his story is though – he seems too zen. As for Rick – WTH?! He still needs to reign in the crazy. I have to admit that I expected someone big to die, not the two that did. Overall, I felt that the finale was not as exciting as I had hoped it would be. I still can’t wait for next season though – the Wolves and Rick/Morgan. By the by, Ioved Faber’s book, The Crimson Petal and the White, so I’m interested in reading his latest The Book of Strange New Things. The fact that you are getting so much from it makes me think I should definitely give a chance sooner rather than later. Hope you have a great week!!
I still haven’t seen Mockingjay. Ah well. Busy weekend for us here too. Kiddo had her kid birthday party, about three weeks after her birthday, but she still had a great time and the kids loved bowling — even the girl who didn’t even want to put on her bowling shoes.
Saturday was taken up mostly with those errands and the party, while Sunday was running around again for errands unrelated to the party and swimming class, etc. I finally got some new sneakers — just in time for spring….the dog better be ready for our long walks! I need exercise. I feel like a lazy oaf!
I’ve been reading lots of poetry as you might have guessed.
In the exercise dept I feel like a lazy oaf too but I am cutting myself some slack. I am just too exhausted to do anything.
I have been on a major taco kick lately. Saturday we had shrimp tacos for lunch and fish tacos for dinner! Hope you’re having a good week, Ti 🙂
I love shrimp and fish tacos! Haven’t had any good ones in a really long time though.
Ooh, which bread, which bread?? I’ve just discovered Udi’s, and their bagels have been a lifesaver lately. They actually get crispy! I would LOVE some toast with jam…yum 🙂
Okay, so Udi’s makes their normal white bread but the other day I noticed another white bread by them called Florence Street Bakery bread. It’s a totally different consistency. It’s still a little dry, but it’s puffier if that makes any sense. I paid an obscene $7 to try a loaf but I see that Walmart carries it for less. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Udi-s-Florence-Street-Bakery-Farmhouse-White-Bread-16.7-oz/40843084
Yum…thank you!! I’ll have to keep my eye out for it. Sounds delicious.
I hope you had a wonderfully quiet and relaxing Sunday. Please tell me you got some sleep!!
I got some sleep on Tuesday, my holiday off. I look about five years younger after getting sleep. I am going to try to go to bed earlier for the rest of the week. I am good about doing this but the hub comes upstairs and makes so much noise that he wakes me up. He tries to be quiet but his trying to be quiet is still loud.
I understand completely. J does the same thing to me both when he comes to bed and when he gets up in the morning. Blech.
The bread sounds wonderful! I am behind on Walking Dead and need to catch up through the finale. Maybe this weekend. 🙂
If you’ve been reading that book for this long, I probably need to take a look at it.
Have a good week, Ti!
