Sunday Matters: The End of the School Year is Approaching

sunday-matters (1)
Hello, again! These Sundays seems to come around quickly. We are in a heat wave here. Close to 95 degree temps this past week. I enjoy the warm weather. If summer could cap itself at 90 I would be a happy lady. Last year we had a pretty mild summer. I don’t think it once hit 120 but this year has been unpredictable. I certainly hope this early warm weather isn’t hinting at a sweltering summer.

It feels like just yesterday when I was stressing over moving the Girl to Missouri and now we are about to plan her move back. It’s all up in the air right now because we still aren’t sure about summer acting plans. We need to figure out the storage situation as she won’t be able to move into her apartment until August. Flights are always difficult with that tiny airport in Springfield. She always has to drive to another airport and she has no car so it’s a challenge. Wish us luck.

Right Now:

Student ministry is still on break but I have lunch with some of the leaders today. We are hitting up an Indian buffet and I can’t wait. Their food is yummy and I am so glad that buffets post-Covid are starting to come back.

Reading:

I finished Murakami T: The T-Shirts I Love. It was a lot of fun to read about his favorite t-shirts. Seems like an odd topic but in his hands it’s always interesting. My review of Greenwich Park  posted last Friday so stop by if you missed it.

My current read is Nan Rossiter’s new one, A Good Measure. It comes out April 12th and Nan has offered me a copy to giveaway so look for that review soon.

A Good Measure

Watching:

We started Ozark. We are halfway through season one. That is one wild show.

Grateful for:

  • Booster #2. I debated getting it because of my kidney issues but ended up getting it. No issues so far.
  • Book mail. I don’t know about other bloggers but I had a dry spell for awhile and received no books for months. The other day I received two. It made me so happy.

Have a wonderful Sunday and great week! My family is not on board with me cooking an Easter meal so I have no idea what we will do next weekend.

Sunday Matters: Three Days for the Weekend Would Be Ideal

I’ve always said that three days would make for an excellent weekend. You’d have a day for errands, a day for fun, and a day to relax. Perfect, right? We’ve been a little short on the “fun” day because it ends up being an errand or cleaning day. I do not mind cleaning. In fact I love to clean and organize before relaxing. Errands, I do not care for. And soon I need to buy some clothes. I really detest clothes shopping but yoga pants cannot be worn for every occasion, contrary to popular belief.

Right Now:

No student ministry today since they are on spring break. I hope they all have a fabulous break. I miss their smiling faces. I am working on a little project related to student ministry though so I will dedicate some time today for that.

Watching:

We started Ozark. It’s dark and intense. It’s reminding me a lot of Breaking Bad which was one of my favorite shows ever.

Grateful for:

  • New opportunities that challenge me.
  • Trash pick-up. It’s ridiculous the amount of trash just the three of us generate. I’ve been going through closets and drawers and tossing stuff left and right. It feels good.
  • Someone at church recommended a new band to me, Joseph. They are amazing if you want to give them a listen. It’s not worship music but they are vibey and just good.

Have a wonderful Sunday and great week! I cannot believe we are in April! Do you prepare an Easter dinner? I normally do but these two here just want to go to Cracker Barrel. Ha.
