My week was going along pretty well but towards the end, heading into Thursday and Friday I just felt like I was being tested. One thing after another came up. Including four dozen macaroons that I baked for a bake sale that just fell apart when I took them out of the oven.
What happened?? I am thinking something was wrong with the egg whites or something was wrong with the organic coconut. I don’t usually use organic. It was so dry. Then my son’s car broke down, it was repaired and then the very same day a new issue caused the car to break down again. I was ready to throw shredded coconut at the wall.
I know this is all real life. Things happen but I honestly did not handle the night well.
Right Now:
I am okay but I sort of feel like I should just stay in bed. I’ve got things to do but it’s a nice thought.
This Week:
I have no pressing appointments this week. Some volunteering but all manageable.
Reading:
Still reading Murakami’s new book which is why there have been no reviews. It’s over 600 pages and I am taking my time with it.
Watching:
I need to watch The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. I have heard from several of you that it’s pretty darn good.
I recorded Charlie Brown so I’ll be enjoying that soon. I just love Charlie Brown!
Still watching American Horror Story and The Walking Dead.
New Things I’ve Tried:
I tried to go “healthy” by switching out my regular coffee creamer for organic coconut creamer but it was bleh. Not good. Not creamy. Not tasty at all.
On a personal care note, I used to buy expensive hair spray. Did so for years but then all of a sudden they stopped making it. So I tried a cheap drugstore spray out of desperation and it’s the best spray ever. No flaking. Totally controls my frizz. It’s cheap enough to keep multiple bottles around the house too.
Grateful for:
Chance interactions. Sometimes I have the best conversations with people who just step into my life for a split second.
My question for you this weekend:
For those who celebrate Thanksgiving, what is the one food you must have or it’s not Thanksgiving? For me, it’s the gluten-free cornbread dressing I make.
