Sunday Matters: Have My Word but No Time to Write About It

Sunday Matters

I had all these things to say and then my phone went kaput while at church. I am not all that attached to my phone. In fact, I hate the darn thing but when it doesn’t work and forces you to go to the Verizon store, which is just like walking onto a car lot these days, you get a little cranky. Not the way I wanted to spend my last day before work.

But, I had small group ministry tonight and now I feel so much better. My replacement phone (thank goodness for insurance) should be here by Tuesday but I lost all my photos from the past few months. Which  makes me a little sad.

On another note, I did find a word for my #OneWord resolution but I’ve no time to tell you about it! I promise to write it up this week.

Right Now:

I am currently prepping for my return to work and their return to school and trying to get dinner on the table.

This Week:

I am just focusing on getting through the week. I have one small appointment and there is always rehearsal but as far as personal appointments go, it should be a slow week.

Reading:

Oh my goodness!! I am almost done with Joyce Maynard’s new book, Under the Influence, which comes out in February. It’s SO good.

Watching:

We watched Guardians of the Galaxy again the other night and we introduced The Girl to The Goodbye Girl. She loved it!

Making:

I am making spaghetti for dinner but earlier in the day, I made up my lunches for the week, brown rice, grilled chicken breast and green beans.

Grateful for:

Quiet time. I don’t get too much of it on a regular basis but when I do get it, I am just so grateful for it.

Sunday Matters: Happy Sunday (Afternoon)

Sunday Matters

I was up early but didn’t get my post up before going to church so here I am. Late, but here.

Right Now:

We just got back from church and I just finished a White Chocolate Mocha with a raspberry shot. My new fave drink. I am not that into spending loads of money on prepared coffee drinks but when I do, I like to spend it on this one. So good.

This Week:

I have this week off. Several months ago I debated my return date and decided to take the extra week. I am glad I did because right before New Year’s Eve I broke my big toe. I’ve broken things before but this one is a real pain to deal with because you just don’t realize how important that toe is until you cannot use it. So, instead of completing my garage clean-up project, I will be sitting on the couch with my foot up.

Sometime this week, I have to run the pup to the vet for her shots but the Teen can drive me. I suppose he may need to pick up some items at the market too. In my head, I get ambitious and try to do stuff like hit this bookstore downtown, which I did just the other day, but I only lasted a very short while because wearing a shoe is not really an option and without it, I feel as if everything is a target for my foot.

This bookstore is called The Last Bookstore and it’s housed in what was once a bank building. Some of the rooms include vaults full of books. It’s wild.

The Last Bookstore

I don’t really have much else going on this week, except figuring out what my #OneWord will be for 2016. I had it narrowed down to two words and then this stupid foot thing happened and it made me consider some other ones. Soon. I will have it soon.

Reading:

My first book of the year is The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. Which is a difficult read only because I really want to put some of it into action and can’t at the moment. I am going to start something else but haven’t decided what yet.

Watching:

I’ve been watching all sorts of stuff. The Twilight Zone marathon was interesting this year since it was aired in order. This meant that there were some episodes that I’ve NEVER seen before. Typically, the most viewed episodes are shown. I was glad to catch these rare gems.

The Girl and I watched The Fault in Our Stars. Well, I settled down to watch it on my own but she wandered down and ended up watching it with me. We both liked it and I felt it stayed pretty close to the book.

I’ve also been watching Laverne & Shirley, The Wonder Years and I recorded all of the Thin Man movies to watch this week. I’ve never seen them!

Making:

I made all sorts of stuff for New Year’s Eve and made so much that we ended up eating it for two days straight. I made wings, taco dip, pigs in a blanket, guacamole, pizza, salad and artichoke dip. Of course I have no food in the house right now.

Grateful for:

This extra week. Even though I am not able to do everything I want, I am so glad I decided to take this week off.
