Hello, friends. The first half of this year has been a beast of a year, work wise. I always look forward to creating a Summer Reading list but this year, I just don’t have the bandwidth!
Instead, I am picking up The Count of Monte Cristo and I am calling it “my summer read” because it’s 1300pp. and will probably take me all summer to get through!
Anyone want to join me? I am starting it today and will read it in-between review copies and book club picks. So many have recommended this book to me and it will feel so good to finally get this one under my belt.

I would join you, but I’m still working my way through The Winds of War, which is not a slog, but I’m reading it between other books. Enjoy your summer doorstopper! I may try it next year.
Oh sure, The Winds of War requires your attention. I am just trying to get these big books checked off. You only have so much time to read.
I read it a few years back and enjoyed it very much. I think I must have read an abridged version because I think my book was only 1000 pages. Ha!
I think the abridged version is even shorter!

There was some early interest from folks to join me but it petered out. No worries. I will read it on my own between other books. Your list looks fabulous.
