Sunday Matters: Vacation Done

Sunday Matters, a latte on a wooden tray against greenery.

I am back from summer camp!! It was a great week. The students mean so much to me and we had a really good time getting to know one another without the distraction of the world.

Right Now:

Drinking my mushroom coffee. All the rage. It makes me feel really good. No crash. Then, heading to student ministry. After? A nap. Please.

This Week:

Back to work. Eh. Nothing else scheduled. Just taking it easy this week. My entire body is sore from camp.

Reading:

Infinite Jest

Red Pill

One is my summer pick, and the latter is for book club. Super hard to follow Red Pill. I’m 50% in. Hmmm.

Watching:

I finished the last season of Squid Game. Without spoilers, I will say most of it was predictable and pissed me off. The franchise though? Enjoyed.

Grateful for:

    New friends.
    The daughter comes home 7/28.
Plants. I’ve propagated a few from a fave main plant and they are all doing well.

Have a great week. Tell me how you’re doing.

  1. You must be getting super excited about your daughter’s return! Our granddaughter will be here in August for a visit. We haven’t seen her since 2019 at my daughter’s wedding! She (our granddaughter) used to spend her summers with us when we lived in Nebraska. She would come for 3 weeks! Now that she’s almost 23, we’re happy to have 4 days with her. 🙂

    1. I am super excited but my daughter will be busy auditioning and working. I think it’s great that you get to spend some time with your granddaughter soon!!

My daughter is bringing her cat. LOL. I don’t know how my senior pup will deal with it. She didn’t like Jinx as a kitten but my daughter swears Jinx has mellowed out now at age 3.

  2. Camp sounds like a blast!

I have Squid Game 2 on my to watch list and am looking forward to it. I just have to finish the 12-season show I am almost done with first.

    1. Oh! So you haven’t seen Squid Game S2 yet? You will enjoy it.

Camp was a blast. I’ve been to camp a handful of times and this was by far one of the best weeks. I wasn’t sure because I had 5th and 6th graders this year but what lovely, young ladies.
