My Summer 2024 Reading List

Summer Reading 2024

Everyone loves a good list, right? My summer reading list is short but these are the books that I really want to read this summer. The last book, doesn’t come out until September but I received a review copy so I am fitting it in!

One Big Happy Family

One Big Happy Family by Jamie Day

The Summer Club

The Summer Club by Hannah McKinnon

You Like it Darker
You Like It Darker by Stephen King

the-mothers
The Mothers by Brit Bennett
Extinction

Extinction by Douglas Preston

Devils Island

Devils Island by Midge Raymond and John Yunker (comes out 9/3)

I’m not taking any vacations or going to camp this year so it will just be me, and the books, and relaxing evenings.

  1. I read Extinction. Interesting take. Had a weird Jurassic Park vibe that I liked.

King has been hit or miss for me. He could use a fierce editor to chop some of his wordiness. There were some really good stories in there but some others were just eh.

glad you are feeling better and hope you have some great reading time

  2. I’m looking forward to the new Stephen King book, but since I have a few from his backlist, it may not be until next summer that I get to it! Love the cover art of your first two picks. I’m a sucker for Adirondack chairs. Happy reading, Ti!

  3. Adding this comment so I can click on the send me new comments. Looks like WordPress has changed a little bit…

  4. I have a couple of these on my ‘maybe’ list. I do think Devil’s Island looks good. Hope you enjoy them!!

    1. With my Spotify account I get access to all the new audiobooks so I am listening to King’s new one. It’s fun to listen to. Good reader.

  5. These all look so good! And having a Stephen King in the mix is sure to make you a happy reader.

I haven’t done a summer reading list. I feel like we’re well into summer and I am still finishing up spring. I hope after this week I’ll feel more in summer mode.
