This past week was pretty good. I kicked the cold, had some fun and picked up my reading pace (finally).
In theatre news:
My son got the role of Daryl in Bright Star. It’s been awhile since he’s been on stage so this is perfect for him. Plus, it’s a fun musical. It’s bluegrass which is different and fun.
My daughter got the part of Rusty in Footloose. In the movie, Rusty was played by Sarah Jessica Parker. It’s also a fun part. She’s thrilled.
Right Now:
Last week we watched the church service online because I was sick so I supposed we should make an appearance today. I enjoy going but I have to go back later today to volunteer too and there are only so many hours in the day.
This Week:
I took this weekend off to take my high school students to winter camp but camp was cancelled. I kept the days off though so I plan to spend Monday painting. I need to paint a table and chairs set, a coffee table, and a book shelf. Will it all get done? If I finish one thing I will consider it a successful day.
No major appointments this week.
Reading:
All of these great reads came in the other day:
Watching:
I don’t know if I admitted it here before but I’ve been watching Dr. Pimple Popper. I watch this show with the same fascination I have for Hoarders. How can people live with a grapefruit sized cyst on their neck that’s been there for years? I’m sure many of these people do not have medical insurance. That HAS to be it.
New Things I’ve Tried:
I haven’t tried anything new yet but I plan to use the painting technique I saw on Instagram on those tables I mentioned. I would never think to mix water and paint and then to use a sponge no less. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Grateful for:
This week I have been really grateful for my coffee press. It’s such a simple device but I use it daily and it gives me such pleasure to press out a perfect cup each and every time.
Are you crafty? If you could paint one thing in your home what would it be?
