I’ve been trying to catch-up on sleep ever since last week’s theatre festival. It was fun but man, I am exhausted. That, coupled with a few nights of insomnia really did me in.
My daughter got her wisdom teeth out on Friday so although the day was spent making her comfortable, it was still a day off from work. Tried to make the most of it by tidying up while she rested and got some reading in here and there.
Spring is all around and I love it. Cool mornings and evenings but warmish days. The flowers are blooming. This is perfect weather in my book.
Right Now:
Coffee.
This Week:
This week should be better. It’s spring break for my daughter so at least there isn’t any stress over homework getting done, etc. I’m at work all this week but have Monday off as a holiday.
Reading:
Everyone seems to be reading Daisy Jones & The Six so I shall join them.
I forgot to bring Daisy with me to work the other day so I started this book as well, Tomorrow There Will Be Sun. I see mixed reviews for it but I cannot put it down.
Watching:
The Walking Dead was crazy last week! Something pretty shocking happened. Tonight is the season finale. I hope it’s just as shocking but these producers love to leave us hanging.
New Things I’ve Tried:
I tried Maca root powder this week. I have been adding it to my coffee. I was told it would help balance out hormones but when I Google it I see that it also helps with energy as it contains quite a bit of iron. I am low on iron again which explains my wiped out state. It’s a little bitter though. Not bad when blended into coffee but just stirred in makes a lumpy mess.
Grateful for:
Good movies. A lot of movies are coming out soon that I want to see. Us, is already out and I can’t wait to see it.
If you could pull one book out of your pile to read right now, what would it be?
Hope your daughter is feeling better now 🙂 That’s great she has spring break now, so she can just relax – hopefully you can, too. I’ve got that Daisy book on my kindle, but just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I wonder if I will like since it seems like everyone loves it and when that happens I usually find fault with the book. LOL! TWD better be good tonight, or else I’m done watching. Ok, not really, but I will be disappointed. I should try that powder, I have anemia, so maybe it will help. US looks so good!! Have a great week, Ti!!!
I tried leaving a comment earlier, but it didn’t go through, so I am trying again. Just wanted to say that I hope your daughter is feeling better and that she enjoys her spring break. That Daisy book is everywhere, which means I probably won’t like it = that always seems to happen, the more the book is loved, the less I like it 🙂 I should try that powder since I have anemia – thanks! TWD has got to be great tonight – I can’t wait!! Have a great week!!
I sure hope WD is good tonight. Prediction, they’ll end with Negan and his whistle.
Can’t decided if I want to read Daisy Jones or not, but Tomorrow There Will be Sun sounds really good. Goodreads says it’s for readers of Meg Wolitzer or Emma Straub, and I like them both! Hope your daughter is recovering from her oral surgery. Happy spring!
Tomorrow There Will Be Sun really sucked me right in. Plus, I never get to take a real vacation and it’s kind of like being on vacation while reading it. I haven’t gotten to the “gone wrong” part though.
That sounds like perfect weather. Here, our weather is still bouncing around, 60s yesterdays, 30s today and tomorrow. Then up to high 40s and 50s rest of the week, I think. Slowly getting there…but where is there? 😉
One word for “right now” for you seems like a good one. I like mine iced.
You’re at work all week, but…? You have tomorrow off so then you’re not at work all week then are you? 😉 Sorry, I’m a literalist.’
I’m NOT reading Daisy Jones & The Six. 🙂
I had a feeling Us would be your alley. Hope you enjoy it.
If I could pull book out of my pile, it’d be the one I’m already planning on reading: All Things Wise and Wonderful by James Herriot.
I have been getting work emails even while off with my daughter so…at work all week is accurate. The downside of not having anyone to back you up.
Not going to like that comment, but understand.
Spring is taking its time here. We had a few beautiful days, but our temps dipped again yesterday. The sun is out right now, but it’s too cold for me to spend any time outside, and I am okay with that.
I hope your daughter is recovering nicely and has no complications!
Holly had spring break last week. The lack of homework was nice, but she still had dance classes, so it did not ease our weekday schedule at all.
I am avoiding Daisy Jones & The Six like the plague. I don’t think it is my type of novel no matter how popular it is.
I have heard many people say they are avoiding Daisy Jones because of the formatting. Everyone raves about the audio book though. I, of course, have the hardback. I wasn’t aware of the format when I bought it. I just bought it.
I just finished spring break and am really feeling the SPRING part of it right now with all the door and windows open, the warm weather, the flowers…. Don’t make me go back to work tomorrow!
Well, Santa Barbara was gorgeous this past weekend. My daughter wanted to actually be ON the beach but my weather app predicted clouds so we opted to tool around town instead. Of course, it was sunny and blue all day long so she was grumbling the entire time about her missed tanning opportunity.
It ended up begin a wonderful day in SB. I’m so glad you all enjoyed yourself even though your daughter wanted beach time.
I have a friend who went to see US by herself and had to leave early, she said she never felt so frightened in her life at a movie.
Hope you have a good week.
She went by herself and had to leave? Wow. I get all wound up but I rarely get up to leave, unless there is a lot of violence of the torturous nature. I can’t watch those SAW movies at all for that reason. We want to see it all together and my son’s schedule has so far, not allowed it. Still trying to come up with a date.
I’ve had a few nights of insomnia and it’s no fun!
I’m going to pass on Daisy Jones.
I want to see Wonder Park and Missing Link plus many more movies
I remember having all my wisdom teeth out at once, that was not a fun experience…and being loopy from the anesthesia was hilarious. Mom enjoyed that part.
I hope you catch up on some sleep and have more energy this week.
I loved spring break when my kids were young. It was a chance to go do things with them, and it was always an adventure.
I’ve been trying to read from my own shelves (oh, so difficult, at times) so I’m reading Salt to the Sea. I don’t know how long I’ve had this book, but it has actual holes in the cover!
