The Short of It:

This book is all kinds of crazy and incredibly hard to put down.

The Rest of It:

*No Spoilers*

Perfect couples irritate the heck out of me. The outfits, the dinners, the public displays of affection. It’s all too much. Jack and Grace happen to be that couple. Jack’s charm and good looks make him quite the catch so when Grace falls head-over-heels for him, they soon marry and from that point on, it’s all downhill from there.

They have secrets. Grace does her best to keep them, realizing she has little choice but the cat and mouse game that Jack plays is enough to make you jump out of your seat.  I spent many lunches nervously chewing my own lip off. The tension is so thick and the pacing is relentless.

Needless to say, I really loved it. I loved the story and how the characters were written. There are some interesting twists that I didn’t see coming and the ending was very, very satisfying. I’ve never heard of the author before this book but I am a fan of hers now.

If you want a book that you absolutely cannot put down and love psychological thrillers which also happen to be pretty clean in the violence/language department, then pick this one up. I’ve recommended it to many friends and everyone agrees that it’s great. Go get yourself a copy.

  1. I read this one when you mentioned it on FB. I didn’t like it. It was too predictable – I even skipped ahead to the end just to finish it. I guess it just wasn’t for me. Oh well. I’m glad you enjoyed it so much 🙂

    1. That’s what made it so crazy!!! That it could actually happen. So many books have premises close to this but in the end the situation doesn’t ever seem believable. Not the case here.

  2. This is a book I have had for a while and haven’t yet read…I guess I need to jump on it! But…your reviews always make me want to read the book…except for your freaky scary ones!

    1. I haven’t read a freaky scary one in a really long time. You need to read this one though. Not scary that way and clean.. no language or sex or anything. That cover makes it look like a different kind of book.

    1. When I first started to read it, I really thought it was going to be some twisted sex thing.. .behind closed doors… ohhhhh. I am SO glad it wasn’t that and when the story began to build and the sister came into it I was like, wait a freakin’ second… this could happen to someone. And then you begin to ask yourself what you’d do in the same situation because you are like, “No way would I put up with it” but then you get to thinking about what’s at stake and then… yeah. I really liked it. Plus it was fun to read and return to every time I had a moment.
