A movie review? On a book blog? I know, I know. Well, it’s for the R.I.P. X challenge so it’s all good.
I won’t go in-depth because I failed to notice that what I was watching on Netflix was part 2 and not actually the first film but seriously, it played out like it was the first film. I had no idea that it was a sequel until I looked it up.
Anyway, it’s the perfect ghost story for this time of year. It’s a bit scary, but no gore and no language. The Lambert family tries to figure out why they are connected to the spirit world and all sorts of strange happenings take place. Their one son has a special talent for going places while he sleeps and the husband is a little confused over his identity. The wife, played by Rose Byrne is great.
Overall, I liked this film. It has a creepy house, strange children, and just enough suspense to keep you on your toes. I kind of want to see the first film and there is even a part 3, which came out not too long ago. Have you seen Insidious?
Love horror movies (and books). Most definitely my favorite time of year. I’ve seen both Insidious 1 & 2, and while both were good I liked 1 a bit better. Can’t wait to see 3!
I love that you posted about a horror movie! My sister has seen two of the Insidious films, but not the last one. I hear they are good movies to watch if you want a light scare. Although, they seem pretty creepy to me, so I’m sure I’d be really scared if I saw them. I see that you are reading Finders Keepers – YAY! I loved that one! I can’t wait for the final book to come out. Oh, and The Quick is a really good one, too. I read it for TLC and LOVED it. Hope you enjoy it as well 🙂 Have a great week, Ti!!
Finders Keepers is interesting. I am 35% into it and find it an interesting sequel.
Its definitely not what I expected, but I really ended up enjoying it. I have to admit that it felt so far removed from the first book, that I wasn’t sure where he was going with it. Let me know what you think when you are done 🙂
Nice. As it happens, I’m currently on the market for some creepy stories, since ’tis the season and all that… I might give this a try, thanks, Ti 🙂
I haven’t seen any of these movies; my husband loves these kinds of things, but I often find them silly.
Some horror flicks can be silly. This was not one of them. Straght-up ghost story.
Oooh, I want to see this one. On Netflix? I’ll look for it. Thanks for sharing about it. I was just thinking that since my husband has an event this evening, I will watch a movie or two. Yay!
Yep! On Netflix streaming. It’s not too long either. It’s spooky.
I haven’t seen this, but that’s a pretty creepy picture. And I like my films scary with no gore (language, I don’t mind so much) so this one is right up my alley. I’ll need to check out this one and the other parts too.
