It’s been a really busy weekend for me. Yesterday was spent running errands and then my daughter and I hit a birthday party for one of her classmates. The party was fun, but I was completely worn out by the end of it. A water slide and dunk tank is a bit much for this 40-year-old body.
Today, I had more errands to run but one of them was at least somewhat book related. I bought a really comfy camp chair to keep at work. I work for a university and during the summer, I like to go outside on my lunch break, book in hand, and just sit under one of the beautiful shade trees. However, there are never any benches by those trees (why do they do that?) so now I have a chair to take with me.
After all the errands, my family decided it would be a good “zoo” day so we took off for lunch and hit the zoo afterward. It was completely overcast but in the mid-seventies so it was actually perfect weather for the animals. They were all out and about and my daughter was thrilled.
Now we are back home. I have spaghetti sauce simmering on the stove, one kid is studying for a science test, the other is napping on the couch, and the Hub is outside washing HIS car. He never washes mine! Instead I have to bribe the boy to do it.
This coming week is sort of a sentimental one for me. It’s the last week of school and my daughter is graduating Kindie. When my son graduated Kindie, there was no ceremony it was just like any other last day of school but my daughter’s class is having a ceremony. Since I didn’t know about the ceremony, I neglected to ask for the day off. The Hub will be going, but I feel terrible about missing it. I am still trying to figure out a way to go but my co-worker quit last week. Crossing my fingers that I can work something out.
With the weekend as busy as it was, I was not able to get any reading in. I am hoping to get a bit in before dinner but one never knows in this house. Hope you all had a relaxing Sunday.
