The next two weeks will be a bit different for me because I am off from work and home with the Kidlets. Typically, this is not a vacation for me because none of us are used to being around each other for long periods of time so we end up knocking heads quite a bit. However, my daughter is now five and she seems to be doing things on her own more and spends quite a bit of time playing with her dolls and tea sets. As I type this, she is having a tea party and singing a song in the other room while it is softly raining outside. Sigh.
My son is still asleep. No surprise there!
So here’s my week:
Monday, December 22, 2008 – Absolutely nothing scheduled! Well, except my review of The Rest of Her Life which is already written and will post today. I loved it. I have a few loads of laundry to do. It doesn’t seem to know that I am on vacation. I plan to sit on the couch later this afternoon and begin Twilight.
Tuesday, December 23, 2008 – My friend and her kids are coming over today for lunch. We are going to watch Christmas movies and be goofy. She also works full-time so we are going to be like little kids and just be silly with our time off.
Wednesday, December 24, 2008 – It’s already Christmas Eve. Time flies. Tonight we are going to see the in-laws and the kids will open their presents from Grandma and Grandpa. It’s usually an open house thing so there will be family friends there as well. It’s a pretty good time to relax and nosh a bit. Once the kids are in bed, Santa will stop by. I have to remember to leave some snacks out after I put my morning casserole together.
Thursday, December 25, 2008 – It’s Christmas! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and all that. Today we are having a Southwestern Egg Casserole for breakfast along with bacon and pancakes. YUM. We’ll open presents early and then head to a movie. I would like to see Marley and Me but I have been outvoted. Looks like it will be Bedtime Stories for us. After the movie I’ll prepare the prime rib and put it in the oven and then prepare the rest of the meal.
Friday, December 26, 2008 – The day after Christmas. I try to hit some stores for Christmas decor at 75% off but it will depend on my mood. For some reason, this year I am just not into the crowds at all. No patience for it. I’m sure I will hit a bookstore or two though.
The Weekend: We have a birthday party to go to on Saturday at Chuck E. Cheese. UGH. Not my fave place but the birthday girl is a sweetie so that’s all that matters. Sunday we don’t have anything going on and I hope it stays that way.
What about your week? Are you traveling at all? The trip to my in-laws is a mere five miles away so no traveling for us.
