I woke up this morning with a head cold which is very rare for me as I never get sick. Unfortunately, instead of staying in bed (which is what I wanted to do) I ended up taking my daughter to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. Armed with a copy of Twilight, I prepared for the worst but there were only four kids and at 10am on a Sunday, they had full run of the place. Not bad. Not bad at all.
After that, I had to go to the market. Another place that I try to avoid as much as possible. There is a plus though to taking your daughter to the market AFTER having gone to Chuck E. Cheese. She passed out in the cart, legs dangling over the side and it made my shopping trip quite pleasant.
Once I got home, I started to sneeze my head off. I’m wondering if there is some Christmas-y candle in the house that is setting me off because I actually felt pretty good while out. That’s how head colds are though…able to breathe outside, but not indoors. UGH.
For the rest of the day, I plan to be as useless as possible. I am reading Cane River for my book group but I am also reading Loving Frank for Literate Housewife’s Facebook Book Club. I am also reading Twilight in between the other two. Lots of books and I am loving it. Cane River is a bit slow though. I’m hoping it picks up soon.
Do you guys have any New Year resolutions? My friend and I went out to dinner last night and we talked about ours. I really want to simplify my life a bit. Seems like I always have too much going on. I also want to spend more time with friends and really focus on the ones that truly want to be my friend. I have a lot of friends that I consider to be “fair weather” friends. They are there for the good, but none of the bad and for me, a friend should stick with you through thick and thin. It’s just how I feel.
What about you guys? Are you even thinking about 2009 yet?
Yes… I’ve got my list done! Please enter Thursday’s Thoughts this week and enter your resolutions! I’d love to see you there!>>it’s thursdaysthoughts.wordpress.com.>>Sheri>A Novel Menagerie
I think your chances of life getting simpler Ti are very slim.>Just make sure you keep things that you really want to do and are brave enough to say no to doing things that your heart is not really in. All the best for the New Year
glad you survived Chuck E. Cheese…that place is pretty much my personal definition of hell. Hope you’re feeling better soon. And no, I’m not even thinking about ’09 yet.
Sorry to see you’re under the weather. I usually don’t make resolutions.
