Sunday Matters: A Birthday & Busy Kids

Sunday Matters

It was The Hub’s birthday yesterday. We had a full day of JV finals (track) and The Teen had his SAT test so we couldn’t celebrate the way we wanted to, but it was still a nice day. We had super weather and enjoyed a yummy lunch. I think he was happy.  LOOK at that food! I didn’t even capture the meat on that platter!

As for the track meet, The Girl got a medal for relay but she didn’t want to stay for the 100m results. We’ll find out the results later. That’s it! The season is over. I’m a little sad about it. The team party is later this month. Should be fun.

Right Now:

What would I do without my Sunday coffee? I drink coffee all the time but there is something special about that first cup on Sunday morning. Don’t you agree?

In a little bit, we will go to church and then later I get to go back to interview/discuss the volunteer position. In between, there will be a few hours to take care of stuff around the house.

This Week:

No more track practice so the evenings should be a little calmer. Well, except for The Teen. It’s production week for him so one more crazy week & weekend and then he can take a breather. I have some news in regards to his performance but he said I cannot talk about it yet!

Reading:

I finished The Children’s Crusade. My review posts on Tuesday. Reading Waiting for Snow in Havana for book club this Thursday. I need to pick up the pace. I am really behind with that one.

Watching:

Got to catch-up with Bates Motel. I missed it last Monday. Still enjoying Mad Men. We picked up The Empire Strikes Back for The Girl but never got to watch it.

Making:

I am trying to make better choices with food but I am not doing so well and I just started. I think today we will do something simple but not sure what. Maybe a chicken stir-fry.

Grateful for:

Guess what? The Girl made choir! I was so very happy to get that email. She is thrilled. I am grateful that she was chosen. I think it’s so important for kids entering middle school to be a part of something early on.

That’s it for me. What’s going on in your world today?

Friday: Changes Are Imminent

Wish / Do

Where did the week go? On the one hand it dragged but on the other, it flew by. I guess the back and forth kid stuff, meetings and the like kept me busy enough to not know what day it was. I hate when that happens.

In all the craziness I got to thinking about my blog and decided that I will be switching out the template soon. Very soon. The theme I am currently using has been discontinued and my latest commenting problem was due to the template being outdated. To be honest, for two years now I’ve been trying to simplify my life and that should include my blogging space as well. Right?

I’ve found three templates that could work for me even without customization but I wanted to give you all a heads-up. I don’t want you to stop by and be surprised by any of it. Hopefully, you’ll find the new format cleaner and more streamlined. It will be in by the weekend! Exciting, huh?

Now, a little Friday update. We have our last track meet of the season this weekend and it is supposed to be WAY hot! We also have to figure out how to get the other kid to his SAT test which is on the other side of the world… not really but not anywhere near where we will be for the meet. Saturday is also The Hub’s birthday so we’ll have to work some celebration in somewhere. The Teen is rehearsing like crazy for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels too which makes family time darn near impossible.

I hope you are having a wonderful Friday so far. I am just glad that the end of the week is here. STILL have not moved. STILL don’t know if The Girl made choir. It’s a waiting game.

Until later. Happy Friday!
