Book Sale Finds

Don’t you love a good book sale? While many of you folks are participating in the Read-a-Thon, I had to run errands and came across a book sale. A LIBRARY book sale. I figure this makes up for my overdue book.

I had the kidlets and hubby in tow and they were all restless so I only ended up with three books:

  1. East of the Mountains, by David Guterson
  2. My Antonia, Willa Cather
  3. The Pilot’s Wife, by Anita Shreve

Anyone read any of these? Now that I am back (and kidlet #2 fell asleep on my leg) I am going to go see how you guys are doing with the Read-a-Thon.

The Library Police

I respect library institutions. I vist them often. I treat the books that I check-out as if they are my own. I never crease the bindings and never, never fold down the pages. However, this month I am a bit behind on my reading of Infidel, by Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

Today, I am officially overdue. I know… SHUDDER! I am never overdue! I would renew, but there is a title level hold on it and they won’t allow me to renew it. I considered just turning it back in, but I’ll never get it back before my book club meets to discuss it. So… I am keeping it! I know… living in sin.

However, it did remind me of this Seinfeld episode. It takes a bit to get going but this scene always cracks me up. I FEARED the library police when I was younger.
