Sunday Matters: And Here We Are

Sunday Matters

What a week. It’s been a little rough. The highs, the lows, the very low. It’s exhausting to keep lifting yourself up but historically that’s what we’ve done and we shall continue. That has not changed.

Right Now:

Getting ready to head to church for student and online ministry. I’ve got my coffee. I’m ready.

This Week:

I am off for the Veterans Day holiday this Monday and then because I need to use up some time, I am taking Tuesday off as well. Much needed. No plans just reading and relaxing with the pup. She is still hanging on and manages to enjoy her sunbeam bathing, reading with me on the couch and her new trick is jumping out of her stroller. This is not good! She hasn’t been able to jump at all so now I really need to watch her. She knew she was naughty too! She gave me such side eye.

Reading:

Watching:

Still watching Tulsa King. Not in the mood for much else. Is it time for Hallmark Christmas yet? I need cozy and feel good stuff.

Grateful for:

  • Stuffed crust personal pizzas that makes for an easy office lunch.
  • That McDs stunt that a certain person did recently got me off of those McD’s breakfast sandwiches. That’s a plus! They can’t be good for me.
  • Plants. They got me through the shutdowns and they are still alive!! Praise to the Lord!
  • Sweet students who share their sushi with me 🙂
  • This is a big one, my daughter’s boss decided to give her three days off at Christmas so she is coming down as well as my son and his cat Root Beer! Christmas will be sweet.

Recently reviewed books in case you missed them:

Something new! I started a Bookshop on Bookshop.org! It’s fun to add books and I’ve been a supporter of Indie stores for a long time but this is too cool.

Give me an update. How are you doing? Really? I am disappointed for sure but will carry on.

  1. What I liked the least about the vote was a commercial that popped up every break that said “Make sure to vote on November 5”. We voted early so it was annoying.

      1. I did share your message with the Otter Pup. I fear that this weekend may be her last. I am very sad. I keep remembering her as a pup and also just six months ago when she was still running around crazy. So much has changed.

  2. It was a Very tough & disappointing week last week. Ugh. I guess we need to pick up ourselves somehow. I’m glad to hear about Otter Pup and nice you two can read together 🙂 I’m also pleased you put in the link of your bookshop. How appealing. I will look into doing this as well. What a great idea. Enjoy your days off and that’s great about Christmas!

    1. The pup refused to walk with me this morning even in her stroller but she’s sun bathing now and happy as a clam.

The virtual book shop is so fun!

I am still disappointed and a little angry because some people are just now realizing what they voted for. Say goodbye to lots of things. What can you do? Many people voted from fear and didn’t do their research.

  3. Oh gosh. What a week it’s been. I feel a low level blue about everything.

I am so excited that both your kids will be home for the holiday! My daughter will be here for 2 weeks (yay!).

I could really use a couple days off, but I’ll have to wait another couple weeks for the Thanksgiving holiday. Sigh.

    1. It will be wonderful to have your daughter down for two whole weeks!!

I am always over my max vacation days so I have to take large chunks at the end of the year. Today was a vac day and then I will be off Thanksgiving week and then a a bunch of days on Dec and Jan.

  4. I’m so glad your kiddos will be home for Christmas! Yay.

I continue to look for something to be positive about after the election. I’m trying to stay away from the news, but I also want to stay informed. Super worried about Social Security and Medicare…

    1. I’m worried about SS too. I’ve paid into it all my life and when I retire it might not be there. Right now, the news is just highlighting his horrible cabinet appointments. People who are unqualified lap dogs. Stay away. It will infuriate you and there’s nothing we can do about it.

  5. I was having a hard time….before the election and now after. I haven’t read anything much. I am struggling for real, so I’ve been enjoying the small moments with my daughter and family.

I am glad to hear that your children will be home for the holidays.
