One week ago, my mother suffered a massive stroke.
Three days ago, she was taken off of life support.
Now? I sit here in a panic over what to do with my adult, mentally ill sister who was left behind by my mother’s death.
I’ve come up with different scenarios but I also have to consider my own family in these decisions.
Some of you know that the relationship I had with my parents was troubled and wrought with challenges.
As the holidays approach, this is what is on my mind. Many of you heard the news through social media but I wanted to share it here too because my presence will be off and on as I figure this out.
Prayers appreciated.
My deep sympathy, Ti. I too am struggling with difficult family decisions and great uncertainty. Give yourself time and understand that no situation is perfect; we just need to do our best, be our best.
You will do your best as always. I send you hugs over the Internet…and know I’m hear for you if you want to shoot me an email or anything.
So very very sorry and such a difficult situation to be in. Sending prayers.
I’m so sorry, Ti. Lifting you and your family up in prayer.
Ti! I had no idea. I am so very sorry.
As others have said, give yourself time and don’t ever expect yourself to make perfect decisions. There is seldom such a thing in this life. Keep your priorities clearly in mind. Be kind where you can.
Of course, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs!
Oh, Ti. I’m so sorry. So many of us are dealing with difficult family situations, but this… Sending lots of warmth and hugs and prayers.

Wishing u peace at this difficult time.
So sorry about your mom. I pray God’s guidance for you concerning your sister.
Ti, I’m so sorry. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this sad and difficult time. I’m sure you will figure out what to do – you are strong, smart, and caring. And, of course, you must think of your own family first (they are priority) – I get that. I can’t even begin to imagine everything you have to deal with. Take care!
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family and that you will find guidance for your sister. I am so sorry you are going through this.
Sending prayers out for you and your family during this time.
I’m so very sorry to hear this, Ti. Keeping you in my thoughts.

Sending you two hugs. One for the loss of your mom. The second to give you comfort for the difficult decisions ahead. I know whatever you decide will be the right decision for all.❤️
I am sorry about your mother’s death.

Thank you. I really appreciate it.
Oh, Ti. I must have missed it when you spoke about this on social media, and I am just so, so sorry to hear about this. I will be sending prayers and good thoughts y’all’s way — what a difficult and scary situation for you. My own family has struggled with care of sick adults for years, so I know how it can feel like there are no good solutions. I hope you’ll be kind to yourself and let yourself accept that in an imperfect situation, you are doing the very best you can to find the right way. So many hugs.
I have been keeping you in my thoughts and will continue to do so. Hugs to you!
Oh no, I am just seeing this. I am so so sorry and am keeping you, your family, and your sister in my thoughts. I am sure you will do what’s right, hard as that decision may be. Be strong and let us know if there’s anything we can do. {{{HUGS}}}
Many prayers for you and your family as you face this huge life changing decision. We have faced similar situations within our own family, and know all too well that there is no decision that is an easy fit and that the only thing you can do is come up with the closest thing that is good as a whole.
