I wait all week for the weekend to get here but I spent most of yesterday trying to heal whatever is going on with my immune system so I feel as if I lost a day. But today, we are heading to a BBQ at a friend’s house and then it’s me on the couch with a book or a movie.
I am about to begin these books:
I am still working my way through A Constellation of Vital Phenomenon which is just moving at a snail’s pace. It’s good, but it’s slow. I am hoping to put a huge dent in it today so I can get to these other two. It’s weird to like a book but not be able to get through it quickly. You’d think if you liked it, you’d plow through it. Not the case with this one.
I need to carve out some time to update my calendar as there is a lot going on in these final weeks of school. The Girl’s choir performance is coming up, as well as a school performance on the Gold Rush, The Boy is helping with Grad Night, there is some crazy ASB activity resembling the Amazing Race, Beauty and the Beast is coming up as well as summer camp and Cross Country camp and…summer school as The Boy is trying to get ahead of the game with credits. I’ve changed dental appointments twice already to accommodate their schedule. It’s crazy!
Anyway, this is my life. It should slow down after the show so July is looking pretty good to me right now. What do you have planned for today?
Oh my lord – July before you can start to settle down?! On the one hand, I do miss getting to watch my kids participate in activities; on the other hand, I don’t miss the shuttling around and chaos. Hope you’re getting that reading done and giving your body a rest!
I keep telling myself things will slow down but, so far, it hasn’t happened. I hope you’re 100% soon!
I’ve got the same pace of schedule the next couple weeks as well. Next week there is something going on every night…award banquets, our Beauty and the Beast production, etc…plus my son’s multitude of appointments for his meds and state of mind. The week after is Emma’s finals week, which is wacky because she only goes during the times she has a test so I am on call every day. Plus she also is going to summer school the whole month of June for Honors Geometry. Which should put her in a lovely mood. She turned 15 in March and still hasn’t gotten her driver’s permit because of her study schedule! Argh!
Hope you enjoy the BBQ and relaxation… sounds like a pretty good Sunday to me. I’m off to the airport soon to pick up my husband. Will be listening to And the Mountains Echoed while I’m in the car – it’s wonderful!
“CONSTELLATION” was very slow going for me as well. It is an amazing book, but no fast read. And I wanted to understand what I was reading.
My husband and I spent three hours lying on the lanai by the pool, reading. The weather is perfect. We don’t get this chance often. Perfect day.
Today we headed to Anna’s house for her daughter’s last soccer game of the year, and then we stopped at a good and cheap Mexican restaurant by their house before heading back home. I hope to read for the rest of the evening.
The end of the school year is always a little insane. Exciting, but insane. I hope you manage to make it to all the events and feel better soon!
I absolutely loved Vital Phenomena, but I did notice that it took me quite a while to read in comparison to other books. I think part it was because the language is just really beautiful in places and I stopped to highlight, but I was also thrown by the jumping timelines a bit. I’ve heard great things about both of your new books – looks like you have a good week ahead!
Since I have only one child I never experienced the craziness that many friends have, even with competitive sports keeping us on the move. I loved every minute (and know you do too).
Hope you are feeling better today.
Life is crazy here too with Marc’s graduation right around the corner. I sure hope that you’re body is getting back to healthy!!!
I don’t know how you do it Ti. I’d be exhausted with that schedule. I saw on Facebook that you weren’t feeling well. I hope you’re doing better. I’m just starting a few new books and its always a bit of a struggle in the beginning till you get into them. Well it has been for me lately since I lack motivation. Lol.
