I do not know what is going on with my blog. I was told that I was suspended since I was in violation of the service agreement but then I logged in through another browser and I seem to be okay. So this post is really my Sunday Salon on a Monday, but also a test to see if WordPress really did something to my account or if I got hacked somehow. Nothing quite like logging in and seeing a message like that. I just about had a heart attack. So my reminder to you… if you have a blog, take a moment to back it up now. I’ll wait.
Okay?
Good.
Anyway, the weekend was rather uneventful. Which is not a bad thing. We really needed to stay home and just chill out because The Boy has been crazy with stress lately and when he gets that way, he gets loud and obnoxious in that TEEN way of his. The Girl reacts to the nastiness with lots of sobbing which in turn makes me crazy so I kept The Boy in for the weekend which was good. He needed to be reeled in. All I wanted was a little slice of quiet and I think I got enough to feel like a normal person again. In between the reading and the movie watching, we grilled burgers and made stew and got ice cream. It was good.
On Tuesday, the final cast list for Beauty and the Beast will be posted and we have a Jazz Pop performance to look forward to this weekend. The Boy has a solo so he is very excited. He also has a track meet in Santa Barbara which conflicts with the performance. I swear, even with a schedule I have no idea what is going on at any given time. It’s all so confusing and exhausting trying to keep track of it all. He obviously can’t be in two places at once so we’ll see what wins out.
What am I reading? I am finishing up Carrie on audio and I am down to the final pages of The Painted Girls. I just started The Thief of Auschwitz by Jon Clinch. I have reviewed his books here before. I really enjoy his writing and have been looking forward to his new one for quite a while. I am also starting a short story collection titled Survival Skills: Stories by Jean Ryan.
What do you have planned for the week? Are you planning a getaway for Spring Break? If so, where?
I had a lovely weekend. Cleaned house for a St Pat’s Party which was fun. Made a Chocolate Pie (with Irish Butter), topped with Mint Whipped Cream. This week I’m doing all the fun things I can before I start a 6 week subbing gig at the HS where I will have to get up every day at 5 am. Yippee.
That pie looked divine!!
I have nothing but girls so we get a lot of that dramatic sobbing stuff as well
As a matter of fact, we had a round last night 😦 The two older ones think they’re grown…until they need something. Then, we’re supposed to just go along with whatever ideas they’ve come up with, whether or not we agree with it, and be happy about it. Seriously? After the middle daughter left last night, the husband asked me, “Exactly what did you hope to accomplish here tonight?” I don’t know why I even try…the girls are so illogical sometimes. Oy…teenagers!!
Girls have their own set of difficulties for sure. The dramatics! Oh! Save it for the stage. But the Boy can be so freakin’ loud! He’s not yelling. He just booms at me with his man-voice and everyone, including the dog flinches when he does it. He is normally the clown with his funny sense of humor but when he is stressed… I don’t even want to think about it.
Eek! I would have a meltdown if I logged in and saw that too.
I hope you figure out what’s happening with the blog! I try to remember to back up about once a month, but I need to be better about doing so. Happy spring break! The Mr. and I are spending a couple of days away in Chicago, where it’s predicted to be all of 25 degrees. Happy spring?
Sounds like you’ve been busy. I’m glad that the blog thing has been remedied…at least for now. I’ll also be reading Survival Skills: Stories by Jean Ryan.
Also, I loved the Painted Girls. I hope you are enjoying it.
Spring Break? Sheee-it! 😉 We’re still having winter here, no time to break for spring. That doesn’t arrive until Wednesday or Thursday anyway…if even then. 🙂
But the snow is giving me a day off today from working at the library and I’m getting some reading done (or plan to anyway, if I don’t fall asleep into my “normal” nap).
Hope your blog hasn’t been hacked — that would make me close shop I think:(
I’m working during spring break, but is sure is nice to have the Union “student free” and quiet for lunchtime reading.
Spring Break is all over the place here. My kids have theirs the week of April 1st but the university where I work, has theirs the following week, but is still open. I would I could take off two weeks 😉
I would probably have the same heart attack you would have if I got that type of an error message; thanks for reminding me to go back it up right NOW.
Sounds like life is so crazy hectic for you!!!! Mine is starting to wind down as we come into the final three months of Senior Year. But Marc is working, running track, and doing the next play so I guess it’s still a bit crazy!!! I’m going to back up my blog right now!
Hopefully everything will be normal in your very busy life soon…you may never know what happened to your blog!
Glad to hear you got some relaxing time!
Hope your blog is all right. We had rough parts of Feb/March due to my husband’s mother passing away unexpectedly which was really sad for us. But we are headed to Florida for Spring Break in April … maybe it might help
One day I got a malware warning in Chrome when I tried to go to my blog, and the problem was actually at one of the sites I linked to. I took the links out, and meanwhile, the site addressed the problem on their end. Anyway, it definitely freaked me out when it happened, so I hope you weren’t hacked! And with your schedule lately, I’m impressed you’ve got much time for reading at all!
You and I and our parallel lives. Well, nobody shut down my blog, but these kids. OMG the attitude I’ve been getting from my daughter, it is obnoxious. She is mildly better now, but you just never know when the evil or drama is going to erupt. I’m also without any backup whatsoever and enough driving and events going on to fill 6 kids’ lives. I’ve made it through one day, and am basically taking it day by day. Tomorrow is the bad one. Let’s pray for each other.
A quiet weekend? I am not sure that I know what that is, but I’d like one, please. While you’re in SB (if that wins out), we’ll be in Westlake nearish to you for our usual time at the dance studio. Good luck figuring out which even to go to
Glad to see the blog is fine. Seeing your updates on fb and instagram I wasn’t aware that you were having post issues so… all good! ha
Good luck with the play – can’t wait to hear what happens.
We has snow yesterday/today… isn’t tomorrow the first day of Spring?! 😉
I’m glad there was nothing wrong with your blog. That would have been a nasty thing to confront. I can’t wait to hear about the Beauty and the Beast cast list and the Jazz Pop performance.
