48 Hour Read-a-Thon – Update #2

48 Hour Read-a-Thon Button

What I’m Reading:

One Day by David Nicholls

How I’m Feeling:

Meh. I’m feeling meh. I’m only a few chapters into One Day but it’s not pulling me in. It may not be the book though. The Girl is a bit under-the-weather so she’s a tad needy. Needy means that I have to put down the book a lot to get her stuff. BUT, I did re-claim my corner on the couch. The Boys stole it from me last night.

Speaking of last night…

I did not read all the way through last night. I actually had a weird scare where I had a panic attack or something. Not even sure why, but it totally freaked me out and almost sent me to the ER. After that I went straight to bed. I seem fine today though.

Random Tidbits:

I decided that I don’t feel like cooking dinner so we’re all foraging for our own food tonight. Perhaps this will allow me more time to read.

  1. Ti, OMG! I’m glad you are okay! That is scary – the panic attack – yikes! I’ve had those before and it is not fun. Thankfully you are doing better today – just relax and keep on reading. I’ve heard some great things about One Day, but it doesn’t mean that its everyone’s cup of tea, right?

    1. I don’t normally get panic attacks but I suppose that’s what it was since I didn’t drop dead. I swear, I thought I was going to meet my maker. I very nearly fainted!! I have been very cautious today, taking it easy, etc.

  2. Can you see my waving my pom-poms?!! 🙂

I finished my chiclit selection last night and need to pick something else to read (probably for the nook). I was so busy today that I didn’t find time to read.

That’s not entirely true – I read about 4 pages of Room while getting a pedicure and decided this is not a book to read in a few days so I will read it during the week.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. Oh Ti, poor thing. My brother gets panic attacks and says they are very scary (even for those, like him, who get them more often). I’m sure having one for the first time was not pleasant.

Do you have any books that are like comfort food waiting in your TBR list? Maybe treat yourself to one of those this weekend.

As for dinner… good reminder. I’m going to step away from this not so great YA novel I am reading (which, btw, does not feel appropriate for kids) and get some food.

Glad to hear (in your other comment) that the hub is taking over kid duty… that should be nice.
