48 Hour Read-a-Thon – Update #1

48 Hour Read-a-Thon Button

What I’m Reading:

Coming Up for Air by George Orwell

How I’m Feeling:

I’m feeling pretty good. I just put The Girl to bed and everyone else is occupied so it’s time for me to hunker down with my book and let the weekend (and read-a-long) begin.  I only have about 100 pages to go to finish this one. It’s pretty interesting so far.

Random Tidbits:

The boys took over my reading spot. The nerve! That means I will be reading in the living room. Which is fine, just not my normal comfy spot in the family room.

  1. You go, Ti! I’ve only read 1984 by Orwell, but given that 1984 is one of my favorite books, I should probably read more of his work. I don’t know how I missed out on having Animal Farm as required reading at some point in my education. (Come to think of it, I read 1984 for pleasure, not school…hmm.)

  2. Ugh, I need to do a review-write-a-thon. Hate that! Would rather be doing the read-a-thon. I guess it’s like cooking is more fun than cleaning up…

So you’re doing the fun part!!! Good luck!!!

  3. Oh no! You’re going to have to stake your claim there tomorrow night. 🙂

How’s your book coming along? I’m reading Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand and savoring it — great characters.

  4. Good luck Ti and have fun. I didn’t know about this one, but like you I don’t think I can do the entire 48 hours. I do want to do the next 24hr read-a-thon for sure.
I will check in with you today to cheer you on. GO TI!!!!

  5. Oh jeez, 48 hours? I could barely get through the 24 hour one! Best of luck to you. I need to have a 48 hour bloggiesta so I can get my freaking reviews written…

  6. It’s going well. I posted an update, but forgot to mark it “sticky” so it went underneath the other Read-a-Thon posts. Finished 84 Charing Cross Road and fell in love, completely.

Poor little lady, I hope she feels better soon… maybe a day of rest will do her good. Having your spot back and your little girl resting with you while you read a book — not too bad of a way to spend a Saturday. It’s overcast on this side of town. Sun came up for a little earlier this afternoon but has gone away again. Makes for good reading weather. What’s it like on your side of town?

    1. It’s nice here. Sunny, around 75 degrees…slight breeze. The forest fires are dying down now so the smoke is not too bad today. The Hub is taking over kid duty for me so I am going to hit my bedroom for some private reading time.
