This has been an extremely busy week and it has all been hampered by rain! Southern California is experiencing a little bit of “weather.” Our holiday plans have been affected by it and events that we’ve always attended have been canceled because of it. Every year we meet-up with some folks that used to be on the Special Olympics team that my husband coached way back in the day. We take them to look at Christmas lights and it’s quite the event! This year we wanted to try something different but the event ended up being canceled so we just drove around to look at the lights. They don’t care! They just love to meet-up. Here are some pics:
E1, our friend Yvonne, Adam and Debbie
Debbie and The Hub
This is almost Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil… but it’s just E2, E1 and Yvonne crammed into the third row of the Odyssey.
Today we are heading to a friend’s house for a holiday lunch and then tonight we are going to the Reindeer Romp at the zoo, but that all depends on the weather. Oh, and I forgot to mention that my son sprained his ankle at a birthday party and he is on crutches. Another reason to stay home tonight but we’ll see how it all works out.
For reading…I just finished my Moby Dick reading for tomorrow’s Moby Dick Monday post. I am also reading When She Flew and enjoying it. This will be my last week of work and then I am off for the holiday! I am so looking forward to just sitting at home!
What are you doing today?
Ti, these photos are wonderful. You should be proud of your hubby. Special Olympics is such a wonderful organization IMO.
Have fun today despite the rain. (We are getting a mixture of snow and rain (mostly rain), and I have a wake to attend this evening. UGH
Your holiday activities look so fun! I bet Ms. Hear No Evil and Mr. Speak No Evil didn’t stay that way for long! :–)
We are due to get your weather tomorrow, I think.
Looks like everyone was having so much fun! I’m sorry the rain changed your plans, but it sounds like it didn’t hurt the enjoyment of the evening. 🙂 Have a great week, Ti!
Sounds like your week was as exciting as mine! Hope your son is feeling better! And I must say, your hubby is very handsome. Here is to another, less chaotic week!
Sometimes driving around looking at holiday lights is just the best thing! I can’t wait to jump into Moby Dick, but it probably won’t happen ’til the end of the month. Have a great week..
You have had a lot going on! I love to drive around and look at lights – there are a couple neighborhoods near us that go all out.
Sounds like fun! I hate it when the weather interferes with my plans.
I wish I were off for the holidays! Sounds like you’ve been working in a lot of fun holiday things.
I drive an Odyssey, too. I bought it entirely for the trunk space!
It is raining here in NJ — all the way across the country from you! And I love looking at Christmas lights!
I always love seeing the pictures Ti. Everyone looks as if they are having such great time. Glad you are keeping on top of Moby Duck. <—- Bad joke in their somewhere. 🙂
That all sounds like a great time! Now you need to make some time for a little reading fun for yourself. Moby Dick is a noble pursuit but does not scream holiday fun to me. 🙂 Happy reading!
great pics–looks like everyone had fun! my hubby and i were away in vermont for the weekend, enjoying some snow! we haven’t much prepared for the holiday, i figure that i’ll do my shopping on friday. i work best under pressure!
