The Sunday Salon: Easter 2009 Edition

It’s another beautiful day and it just happens to be Easter. Happy Easter to you! The kids got me up early to see if the Easter Bunny came and sure enough, he had. For those that read about my Easter pickle, I never did find those baskets so I had to purchase two new ones for the Big Guy to fill.

The New Baskets

No pics of my son. He is apparently too old now (at the ripe age of 10) to color or hunt for eggs but not too old to get a basket! Smart kid. I’m happy as a clam because I just took a bite of a See’s Candies Bordeaux Egg. The best stuff in the world and one bite is all I need.

Later on we are BBQing a ham and preparing a mini feast of side dishes to go along with it. I will get it all ready and then plop down on the couch to read. My husband has it in his head that is going to go out and buy a fountain today. Yep, on Easter. Men! They get it in their heads that they have to do something and it has to be done right at that minute!

Hope you are all enjoying your Easter Sunday!

  1. See’s Candies – Yum! I’m so jealous! 🙂 I’m just getting a late breakfast. My husband made me pancakes this morning. Have a great day!

  2. We’re having a big get-together later today, with roast beef and yeast rolls and mashed potatoes and tiramasu (however you spell it). It looks like your guys made out big. Enjoy an egg or two and read a little!

  3. Kathy: They did notice that the baskets were different. My son asked about them but I really think they ended up in a Christmas box. They’re here somewhere but my husband did not want to unpack all the Christmas stuff. Can’t say I blame him.

  4. Happy Easter Ti!! Sorry to hear about your pickle dilemna with not finding the Easter baskets. That’s so frustrating, you’ll probably find them within the next month or two. That always happens to me! It looks like your daughter had a lot of fun. My son is 10 and loved the Easter Hunt we set up in the house for him when he woke up. It’s a tradition and he’s an only child so he loves the attention. He loved the basket of goodies also.I had to laugh about your husband wanting to go out and get a fountain. My husband mentioned furniture shopping and I had to remind him that most stores were closed today!Oh, I got my son the Wimpy Kid do-it-yourself Book and he was thrilled. He’ll have fun reading and creating his own cartoons over spring break.

  5. Bonnie: My hubby packed us up in the car to look for the fountain but all the stores were closed. My kids and I laughed.

  6. I had to skip ahead to this post to see what happened with the basket dilemma and I see you had to purchase new ones. These are great though and your daughter looks so happy. Sounds like a really nice day Ti.ps, you’ll find those baskets when you least expect it and I bet they’ll be somewhere really easy and you’ll end up laughing at yourself. It happens to me all the time.

  7. Great baskets.. and your little girl is adorable. She looks like she is just going to sprout up tall!! Thanks for sharing… it was such a beautiful day for Easter. 🙂
