Sunday Salon – November 16, 2008

I really enjoy Sundays. They are not as lazy as I would like, but they tend to run at a much slower pace than any other day of the week. At least for me anyway!

Yesterday, Southern California was hit with wildfires (again). All of the freeways were closed so we had to cancel our husband and wife dental appointments. However, Grandma still wanted to take the kids to the movies so they saw Madagascar 2 and hubby and I had a grown-up lunch at Buca Di Beppo. YUM! We then attempted to go shopping at the mall as I was wanting a new purse. Every purse I picked up was met with, “that looks like a hooker purse.” Apparently, my husband thinks that all of the new styles resemble that of what a lady of the night would select. Lesson learned? Never take the hubby shopping again.

In the evening, I curled up on the couch and read The Misadventures Of Oliver Booth. I still have a little bit of it to read today and then I will move on to Who By Fire. At some point I have to run to Toys R Us for a birthday present. I FEAR that store. I get wrapped up in the toy vortex. It sucks you in!

Later this afternoon the kids have rehearsal and I am not sure what else is on the plate but I hope it involves me, on the couch with a bowl of soup because I have been craving soup lately. What’s your day like today?

  1. It sounds like your hubby and my hubby have similar feelings about women’s accessories. I gave up on trying to find the perfect bag a year or two ago, and then I discovered < HREF="" REL="nofollow"> 1154 Lill, <> where you pick from several styles and custom design your bag by selecting from tons of different fabrics. I usually go to their boutique when I visit my parents in Kansas City, but the website is great, too.

  2. So far I made egg sandwiches, read the paper, played with boys. Did some laundry. Made approximately 9 million yards of quilt binding. Now all three boys are asleep and while I should be sewing, I’m blogging. I might read. I will DEFINITELY finish off the ice cream.

  3. Bucca di Beppo…Lucky! And soup this afternoon…yummy. I wanted to make soup for dinner but my husband ended up buying a ham so we are stuck with that. Not a bad thing to be stuck with but I just really had a craving for chicken soup with dumplings!

  4. I’m pretty sure I saw a hooker leave the hotel we stayed at in Sacramento. She had on an extremely short hot pink dress and pink high heels. And a beige puffy jacket, with the hood up. I don’t recall that she had a purse, though.

  5. Hi there.. Bummer about the fires. LOL at “looks like a hooker purse.” Too funny.!! I love to get 2-3 hours reading time on Sunday too. Might not make it today.

  6. I LOVE Bucca de Beppo!!!Ti, why did I think you lived in Denver??? Shana< HREF="" REL="nofollow">Literarily<>
