The Sunday Salon: November 23, 2008

My plan for today, was to stay in and just lounge around. I need to re-fuel, at least that is what my body is telling me but instead…I was up at the crack of dawn putting the Christmas tree up.

Not just the tree, but ALL of my stuff is up now. Lights are up too. My hubby put them up while I was out yesterday. I came home and the house looked really pretty. My plan is to take a family portrait in front of the tree on Thanksgiving day. That picture will also serve as our Christmas card picture. That is the plan anyway.

After this post, I am going to read a bit and then take the kids to rehearsal. I just made some chicken salad for dinner later and then I have to run to the market for a few more items. I swear…I am always at the market! At some point I also have to make my shopping list for the big “Day After Thanksgiving” shopping trip that a group of us girls do every year.

Oh, and don’t forget about my giveaway for Pretty Monsters. If you are interested, click here for more info. The contest ends on 11/30.

So much for my lazy Sunday.

Sunday Salon – November 16, 2008

I really enjoy Sundays. They are not as lazy as I would like, but they tend to run at a much slower pace than any other day of the week. At least for me anyway!

Yesterday, Southern California was hit with wildfires (again). All of the freeways were closed so we had to cancel our husband and wife dental appointments. However, Grandma still wanted to take the kids to the movies so they saw Madagascar 2 and hubby and I had a grown-up lunch at Buca Di Beppo. YUM! We then attempted to go shopping at the mall as I was wanting a new purse. Every purse I picked up was met with, “that looks like a hooker purse.” Apparently, my husband thinks that all of the new styles resemble that of what a lady of the night would select. Lesson learned? Never take the hubby shopping again.

In the evening, I curled up on the couch and read The Misadventures Of Oliver Booth. I still have a little bit of it to read today and then I will move on to Who By Fire. At some point I have to run to Toys R Us for a birthday present. I FEAR that store. I get wrapped up in the toy vortex. It sucks you in!

Later this afternoon the kids have rehearsal and I am not sure what else is on the plate but I hope it involves me, on the couch with a bowl of soup because I have been craving soup lately. What’s your day like today?
