So Proud

At lunch today, with my gift list in hand, I headed to the store and managed to get every gift on my list. I don’t mean THE list, but a list of gifts I needed from that particular store. I’m happy to say that my list included a book or two, in keeping with the Buy Books For The Holidays theme.

This is a complete anomaly for me. I am the one that gets to the store and then wanders around aimlessly while trying to figure out what the heck to buy. I have been known to get a fever while shopping. I get so worked up about it. The parking, the waiting in line, the rude customers, blah blah.

I’d like to share the titles of what I picked up but since the recipients could be reading this I’ll skip that part. Maybe this will be a trend with me and things will be different on Black Friday when I hit the stores with my friends. You think?

Tuesday Ramblings

I have my eye on American Lightning, by Howard Blum. I keep hearing more and more about it. Has anyone read it? If so, I would be interested in hearing your comments. Here is a little blurb from Powell’s.

American Lightning is history at its most gripping. Fans of Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood will not want to miss this one. The subject is the 1910 bombing of the Los Angeles Times offices, and Howard Blum’s narrative of America 100 years ago will appeal to crime buffs, Hollywood historians, and armchair detectives. With unforgettable characters and a thriller’s plot, American Lightning will keep you reading! Recommended by Beth, Powells.com
My brain is a tad scattered today. On my way home yesterday I saw a beautiful tree that I had planned to take a pic of, but was in a hurry so I put it off until this morning. However, when I got to the tree this morning, the tree was darn ugly and not picture worthy. I guess the afternoon sun made it look more attractive than it was. I’ll check it out on my way out today.
Sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting for word on the audition. I have plenty to do of course but my attention span is that of a small child right now. Huh? What? What was I saying?
I am loving Tethered, by Amy MacKinnon. I could have stayed up all night reading it had it not been for my husband turning the light off on me. Sometimes…he can be so rude. The nerve!

Let’s see, what else is spinning away in my mind. Oh! My daughter’s bday. Tonight we will go out for her bday dinner. Here is a pic of her at the party we had last weekend. I Photoshopped her name off the crown so forgive me for the pink splotch!

Do you ever have days like these? Where your mind just continues to spin? I have Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas on the brain too. Don’t get me wrong. This is my favorite time of the year. I love prepping for this stuff. What about you guys? Do you plan early for the holidays or just roll with it?
