Another Newspaper Drops The Book Review Section

When the Los Angeles Times reduced their book section to a measly page-and-a-half spread due to budget cuts, I canceled my subscription, as did thousands of other readers. In an attempt to cut costs, they lost subscriptions. I may not be a financial analyst but if you lose your readership, doesn’t the cost of your ad space have to make up for it? I wonder how this decision has affected them overall.

I was catching up over at Book Group Buzz and apparently the Washington Post has the same idea. Click here for the article. It saddens me to no end that these sections have to be cut.

Back From Production Week

The Music Man has ended and I am back at work today trying to get motivated. Emphasis on “trying”. It’s amazing how much stacks up when you are gone for just a couple of days. My son did a great job as the Constable. His costume was three sizes too big but in the end, it sort of looked funny that way and seemed to work for what he needed it for.

My son is a funny kid. He is one of those that blends right into a scene if he needs to (he is the 10-year-old in this picture). We were all cracking up backstage because he ended up in scenes that he wasn’t supposed to be in, just because he wanted to be there. He was like Zelig.

All of the performers did an amazing job and the pics are starting to pop-up all over Facebook. I love musical theatre and look forward to The Wizard of Oz which starts in March. Yep! One short month of rest.
Now I can catch-up on all my reading and TV watching and not to mention…blogging!
Note: sorry if you got this three times in your reader. I am having formatting issues!
